I spruced up our ultra vintage 1934 rental cottage last spring and what a fun, rewarding (and only a tiny bit stressful😂) project it was! We lived here from 2005-2012 until we outgrew it, then rented it to a great family until they outgrew it. This place needed serious love and attention after 14 years of continuous use! I had 6 weeks and a modest budget to take on major cosmetic upgrades. (As well as many boring/not pretty repairs standard for an old house.) I did get to obsess on paint colors (fave pastime for real), have fun with lighting and hardware, coordinate all the moving parts (painters, floor refinishers, window company, tile restorer, electrician, etc etc all on a hard deadline which was truly gratifying. The sharp eye and decisive minds of creative collaborators & good friends @nicolethomasstaley and @styledby369 were integral to the success of this project. ❤️ you guys! Here's the Kitchen to the MCM Living Room we posted yesterday! 😍 || The old kitchen wasn't all that bad but it was still closed off and the layout was a bit odd.
Remember the dark living room walls from yesterday?? Check out the new kitchen beam--we repurposed the wall paneling to warm up the space 😊
Home decor is not just decorations. Home decor is builds the stage to our memories. We all have memories of a piece of furniture or accent piece our parents or grandparents loved and we weren't allowed to touch. 😆 What piece of decor reminds you of your childhood? ⠀

Just came across this old picture from the day we bought this MCM house! Literally every light fixture💡💡💡 was on while taking the before picture but it was still sooo dark! This renovation took us about a year ❄ 🌷 🌞 🍂
Lake House!🎣 /// This galley kitchen was so closed off... You couldn't see the lake! We opened up the space to showcase the views + added functional furniture, to make the perfect cozy cottage! 🌅 Check out our store (link in bio) to Shop The Look!

This space was begging for large scale pieces, comfortable spots to land and take in the views or watch a football game. It was fun to completely change the way this space was used and give the clients a great lower level living room. I’m thinking spending a Saturday watching football right here would be pretty fantastic!
A before and after shot of our kitchen dining space. There wasn’t a kitchen in the property when we bought it as the agents for the executors decided the property presented better with everything stripped out. Need I say more? Our building team took three years to make the house structurally sound and fully refurbish it. This space really is the heart of the home today...

Swanky City Living! 🌆 || Downtown Grand Rapids. There's new construction and renovations everywhere. It's so fun to see these big old abandoned furniture factories being turned into residential living 🙌
Our Favorite #MadMen Inspired Kitchen Reno || What a fun mid-century modern facelift! 😊.
The center beam was wrapped with salvaged wood paneling from the original living room walls 🔥
Pictures were taken by two different photographers over a year apart--sorry for a slightly different angle 😉😉

A project revisited when we received an email from our lovely client Elena yesterday, it made me open the folder and see the before and after pics again.
We were asked to carry out a styling project to appeal to a wide age group clientele who appreciate a modern apartment with a slight edge in North London, just off Holloway Road.
Looking through the folder I found the before and after photos and thought wow the space was really transformed. The furniture and details of the pieces really showed the space off and made it look so much bigger also the tweaks to the lighting and adding lamps and mid levels worked to warm and make the environment more inviting.
It’s interesting to watch a clients response when you explain if you do not fill the space correctly or have pieces of furniture which are large enough for the given area it can dramatically make the space look smaller.
We’ve always found it fascinating how an empty room can look so much smaller than a correctly styled room -
I believe adding context and making the room feel like you want to have a dinner party or jump into bed and whack on Netflix definitely adds energy, life and soul.
Not everyone can visualise this but I suppose that’s why we get paid to save very costly mistakes from happening!
I remember the stupid things, the mood rings, the bracelets and the beads
Nickels and dimes, yours and mine, did you cash in all your dreams
You don't dream for me, no, (goodbye, goodbye) you don't dream for me, no
But I still feel you pulse like sonar from the days in the waves
That girl is like a sunburn
I would like to say
That the girl is like a sunburn
I would like to say
She's like a sunburn
Two months ago Cory and I moved into this beautiful apartment in Easthampton, but when I walked into it that first day I wasn't sure we would ever be able to make it work. It took hours upon weeks of scrubbing, painting, fixing up and basically renovating for it to be somewhere I'm happy to call home. We wouldn't have been able to do it without all the friends and family pitching in. It has been an utterly exhausting experience, but in the end it is absolutely worth it. Check out the Before & Afters!
Direktlänk i min profil såklart 🧡. Ha en mysig kväll allesammans!

BEFORE AND AFTER of the formal living room. Another house on the market. I loved renovating this house. The biggest that I have done so far. It’s 5,300 sqft, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a pool. It sits on a 1.3 acre lot. So many amenities.
The staging was done by me and @feitosaeder that is @cazahousesintohomes .

I am so excited to show you guys this reveal! Swipe 👈🏼 to see this beautiful transformation! The client told us she wanted romantic, sophisticated and clean. She was in love with how well the room came together. We were also so in love with it. I’m so glad she let us go with a canopy bed in here. What do you guys think?
We also added shiplap in there tray ceiling and did faux grasscloth on their wall by painting it. After doing this master I’m so ready to redo my own. 😆

And that woman was me 🙋🏻♀️ Last of the summer flowers still hanging on in there, a bit like me, slightly in denial that summer is most definitely over... Happy October 🎃

Big. Fresh. Airy. || Bye 👋 to the dirty carpet and hello to this beautiful wood floor & shiplap! 😍
Instead of removing the entire wall between the kitchen & dining room... we took it back enough to open up the space, but still hide the fridge. This also helps define both spaces || We are starting to hear buyers wanting defined spaces again...😊...which means separate rooms with not every wall in the place opened up.
