Pushing the masculinity conversation forward with one of pop culture's most influential futurists @pharrell "I think the truest definition of masculinity is the essence of you that understands and respects that which isn't masculine. If you ask me, when we talk about masculinity, it's also very racial, this conversation. Because the dominant force on this planet right now is the older straight white male. And there's a particular portion of them that senses a tanning effect. They sense a feminizing effect. They sense a nonbinary effect when it comes to gender''. Photography : @micaiahcarter

Faith🖤••• Faith that one day we will end up exactly where we’re meant to be. Faith that everything that’s happening right now is happening exactly how it’s supposed to be. Faith that every hard time has a purpose, to help us grow, to help us learn, and to help us love stronger. Faith that God has a plan designed for every one of us and that we all are given the choice to live the life that we not only want, but that we should live; with love, with compassion, with gratefulness, with forgiveness, with hope, and with faith. •
I can tell you right now that faith has not, and will not, always be easy for me (and maybe not for you either), but I have hope in my heart that everything I feel and the way that the world just “magically” always works itself out for me, is not just by chance. And that it IS from the grace of God in Him knowing that my heart truly wants to believe and follow, no matter how hard it gets...and not just during the good times, but also during the hardest of times.
It’s not always going to be easy. But it will definitely be worth it🖤••• #havefaith#faith#blessed#Godisgreat#findyourself#happy#tattoos#girlswithtattoos#christian#heaven#He#jesus#upsanddowns#believe#believer#happiness#grateful#forgiveness#growth#love#compassion#kylobabies#kylo#aussiedoodle#villagechurch#surrey#vancouver

How Does One Become a Sufi? | Excerpt from Lesson 1 of the Elementary Sufi Course with Sufi Master @Younus_AlGohar 'God chooses his friends from among the devout believers (Momin). He takes them out of the darkness into the light'. Quran 2:257
Therefore, the first step towards becoming a saint of God is to become a devout believer.
The approval from God in Sufism comes in the form of the Permission for Activation of the Heart (Izn-e-Dhikr-e-Qalb). This is the first lesson of Sufism.
Just as one must go through the embassy of the country one seeks a visa from, in a similar way, those who seek God's approval cannot ask God directly, they need to seek permission through a divine embassy. And God's embassies are his friends.
When a seeker comes to apply for God's love, their application is to verbally repeat 'Allah Hoo' three times after the Spiritual Mentor. This is the declaration on their part that they wish to obtain the servitude of the Lord. Now, the saint of God, the Spiritual Mentor, will take their profile to Bait al Mamour (The Original Worship Place) where the special angels take that profile to God. God will ask, 'Why have you brought him here?' The Spiritual Mentor will reply, 'I have brought him to befriend you'. If God is interested in accepting the seeker’s friendship, he will ask for a guarantor (Wali Murshid) who will take responsibility for the seeker so that they do not deviate from the path. Saints from the religion the applicant follows will be summoned. If God accepts the seeker, he will grant him Permission for the Activation of the Heart and entrust him in the spiritual custody of the respective Spiritual Mentor for spiritual training.
Sufism begins with God's approval, the Permission for Activation of the Heart. This is academic Sufism. Those who obtain this knowledge of Sufism will never say anything that is unsupported by the Quran and Prophetic Traditions (Hadith) as it is well aligned with the Quran and Hadith.
I will be the first to admit that I have asked the question “why me?” Even to this day when things are rough I still ask that question “why me?” Many people over the years have told me “God knew you could handle these trials, He doesn’t give us more than we can bare.” I used to think about that a lot, and to some point even tell myself that. But now I don’t believe that, I don’t believe God “gives” us trials, struggles, or heartache. I believe bad things happen, sometimes it’s consequences of our own decisions, sometimes it’s consequences of other people’s decisions, and sometimes they just happen. I do believe however God can turn any challenge, trial, or hardship for our good. We may not find the good during or even after the trial but I know for example I wouldn’t have half the compassion I have for others had I not been kidnapped and abused. I would not understand why most victims are unable to run or scream. I would not understand why it’s so terrifying to speak out and then testify in a courtroom. And I would not feel as passionately as I do about being a voice for change in how we react, treat, and support our survivors, in how we educate and work to prevent kidnapping, sex crimes, and exploitation.
I know everyone has a story, and I just want to say don’t give up no matter how difficult life may be, we are all in this together. If we all are just a little more kind, a little less judgmental, and a little more compassionate than I know we will have so much more happiness in the world.
