We were deeply saddened this week to hear of the passing of our great friend David Webster. His great generosity, sweet nature, immaculate dress sense and wicked sense of humour will continue to put a smile on our faces when we think of him.
Thankyou David for your kindness, support and advice and for the wonderfully inclusive dinners and parties. From London to LA, Paris to Boston, the international design scene has lost a true gem. #legend#positiveforce#bestdressed#gentleman
Wanted to give a little shoutout to these babies which I found for £40 on depop the other day! They’re the vegan blaire style doc marten and they are acc so comfortable??? They don’t tear ur feet to shreds which is a real achievement 🥴
Also, wanted to take some time to comment on the Boohoo situation.
While it’s great that there are headlines coming out about Boohoo’s Leicester factory, with staff being paid £3.50 an hour, I can only think that nothing is going to change.
We’ve already seen that Boohoo basically refuse to accept accountability. Using wishy-washy excuses as to why they had no idea (bullshit) that their factories were using slave labour. They know. All of them do. Pretending you don’t is ignorance.
ASOS and Next have now dropped Boohoo from their websites. Which is fine, but are they just ignoring the fact that they literally have slavery in their supply chains?
ASOS stocks other fast fashion brands as well as Boohoo. These other brands absolutely also use the “dark factories” of Leicester and also garment workers in Bangladesh who are paid nothing.
Let’s be honest here. If they really cared about this problem; they’d drop all of the brands who use slave labour. Not just the ones who get called out.
If you’re honestly against slavery in the fashion industry- make a change and start dropping the brands who use slave labour in Bangladesh AS WELL as Leicester. And don’t wait for headlines to make a change. Do it now.
