I WENT ON A QUEST TO FIND THE BEST SLICE 🍕 IN NYC
Here it is- my first review from #NYC . And of course, it’s for some pizza. One thing I love about New York, is the “slice shop” culture- almost anywhere you walk in the city you can pick up a slice of pizza for a quick bite or snack. But the sheer number of options is completely overwhelming. But after much research, I found @UpsidePizza whose tag line is: “New School Take on an Old School Slice Joint.” I had to make them a priority and see what the hype was all about

✅Review: WOW. Just wow. This #slicejoint alone makes good on all the #NYCpizza stereotypes. This pizza is amazing. The first thing that you notice, is that it LOOKS good. Every slice in the shop looked appetizing but the true test is a classic #cheeseslice . You can taste the quality in the fresh #mozzarella to the house-made #sauce . But the #dough is what really elevates this to the next level. Using a proprietary blend with no bleached flour or commercial yeast, and special water filtration, Upside pies can take up to 72 hours to make from start to finish. The #sourdough starter actually comes through in every bite and really shines. Everything is in perfect balance here, with each ingredient complimenting the other
The #Falcowitz slice is another thing of beauty, using a white wine lemon cream sauce and topped with sautéed mushrooms. This is the best “white slice” of pizza I’ve ever eaten. And who could forget to try the #pepperoni slice. Everything amazing about the #cheese slice and then they add the perfect #ronicups to throw it over the edge
I am in love with this pizza. And seriously impressed that you can taste the absolute labor of love the owners have put into every $3 slice. #SliceShop game on point

[ Au Cheval - 33 Cortlandt Alley by way of Chicago ] Was really stoked to finally visit to see what all the fuss is about - this joint -supposedly- has a sublime BURGER...
We are rather spoiled for amazing burgers here in NYC so....I must say that, for me, the burger was just "OK"....but, like, coma-inducingly OK...
BUT....the sides, people...all served "au cheval" - meaning brought to you with a runny, fried-egg draped all over the plate....were all kinds of AWESOME!!
SINGLE CHEESEBURGER w/ slab BACON (couldn't finish...)
CRISPY FRIES "au cheval" w/ mornay sauce, garlic aioli
CRISPY POTATO HASH "au cheval" w/ duck heart ❤ gravy 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
