Fitness....... This is more then self image.
This is about getting better everyday.
Everyone is on the same page when they go to the gym...to get better!
For years I struggled with the party life, eating habits, doing shit that was down right not good for me.
The more I became more consistent with my training and focusing on habits that were good, the better my results came in, and my life got better!
This is not an overnight thing, the best things aren’t.
I’ve been consistently training for 2 years now. Focusing on it has been shaping my mind as well as my body. Doing the hard shit teaches us that there is great things on the other side of struggle. The skills mentally you achieve I find take even more struggle because you have to push past the physical pain. Instead of your body telling your mind what to do, you now tell your body what to do, then you truly start seeing how powerful you can become.
Nothing that happens quickly last long term. Embrace the marathon of struggle, it’s going to provide you with way more skills then something overnight.
Fitness, as some see it, is ego driven. Which there is some valid point to that I might add, cause who doesn’t want to feel and look good?
But there is a mental aspect, an aspect that overtime you earn, this is not given, this isn’t something you can pick up and gift to others. They have to earn it personally. The grit and fortitude, the relentless effort to become better.
This isn’t going to be easy...I noticed once I stopped looking for the easy way out, I started to get the things I’ve always wanted mentally. Real confidence, not the fake kind....REAL confidence! Grit! Self respect! Fortitude! Many other aspects mentally too.
Let’s create our futures by first creating ourselves within to be better.
Does your fitness routine have you feeling LIT UP everyday? ✨
Do you feel like you’re rocking your nutrition game?
If you answered yes...👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼!
But if you answered no, let’s talk about it.
Where are you stuck?
Knowing what to make? Recipe ideas?
Prepping the food so you cook the dinner rather than realize you’re starving, don’t have the time or energy to cook, and order take-out? 😬
Finding time to workout? Can’t afford training or bootcamps and don’t really know what to do? Not sure about programming? Not confident in the gym? Sick of doing the same workouts over and over and over?
Maybe it’s just lack of accountability or motivation?
Or you’re just Not. Seeing. Results. 😳

One week back on keto and my skin is clearing up nicely and my body aches are going away. I've fought and struggled with this as I felt like keto wasn't making me feel my best and was messing with hormones but it's the only way i seem to be able to control my sugar addiction anymore. I'm trying to really simplify things down and go very basic. Not really stress over it. I know what to eat and what not to eat. My husband and oldest son are doing it also. So we are doing our best to just do meat and vegetables for the most part. My goal is 6 months keto and evaluate where I'm at and then make it to a year. Sometimes it's hard in the junk food paradise I work in but I try to make sure I have keto options here and just ignore the temptations. #myweightlossjourney#keto#lchf#momof4#weightlossafter40#bettereveryday#happyandhealthy

Getting all sorts of eye rolls 🙄 for today's workout, especially after this week's tough programming by @taylarmademedoit . This one was our favorite so far! Asking our members if they'd want it any other way, and the answer is always a unanimous "Give me more!" 🏋️♀️🏋️♂️🤸♀️🤸♂️🚴♀️🚴♂️🏃♂️🏃♀️
Posting a day late, but wanted to share a recovery update. I'm officially 4 weeks post-op from ACL reconstruction with a bone patellar tendon bone autograft! Every day has been a challenge, but it finally feels like I'm starting to get some normalcy back in my life.
So far, my recovery has been smooth and I've been making good progress with PT, thanks to the help of the amazing physical therapists and athletic trainers I've had the opportunity to work with at the university. In the last week I've hit a few big milestones of recovery, including walking without crutches and with the brace unlocked to 90°, getting cleared to drive, being able to get a full revolution on the stationary bike and being able to sustain a ride for 10 minutes, and getting cleared to sleep without the immobilizing brace!
I still have a long road ahead of me for this recovery, but I'm seeing progress each day and notice a distinguishable difference between now, and when I first tore my ACL and meniscus in New Orleans, 3 days before the semester started back in August. I'm looking forward to what this journey has in store for me next! #ACLR#BPTB#autograft#reconstruction#aclrecovery#surgery#postop#OneMonth#recovery#milestones#journey#BetterEveryDay#NewYearNewKnee
January 17th is known as “Ditch the Resolution Day”. Most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions less than 3 weeks into the year! Are you one of those people?
If you’re about to ditch your resolution, ask yourself this, “Did I change my thoughts about what I’m trying to do or did I just change the action I was taking?” For example, if you have started exercise programs in the past but never stuck with them, and you simply decided that this year you are going to join a gym (again) and workout 5x/week, you won’t last long. You need to change your thoughts.
If we want to change ourselves, our habits, our relationships, our lives, we have to start with our mind. We need to change our THOUGHTS.
You may be dragging yourself to the gym, but you’re probably thinking things like, “I hate exercising”, “I’ve never been able to stick with this before”; “I’ve never been athletic”; “I don’t really think what I’m doing is going to make much of a difference”; “I’ve never really seen results from working out before”; “I’ll never be able to do what these other people in the gym can do”; “I’ll always struggle with my weight”; “At my age, I can’t do much about my body”… Substitute in anything you’re trying to do: dieting, writing a book, getting a new job, starting a business, etc.
As long as you have negative thoughts about what you’re doing, you won’t get long-term positive results. Your mind is ALWAYS listening to your inner voice. You need to make sure that voice is supporting you!
We love hearing from you about how you’re finding way to get and stay active. This quote and picture are from our buddy over at @sweeterdaysfarm (www.sweeterdaysfarm.com) who built a budget farm gym that he uses to put in work. 🇺🇸 There is no limit to what you can do when you set your mind on a goal.
🤮For #tryitthursday I present to you the Turkish get-up. There isn’t a single muscle this bad boy doesn’t hit it and could be incorporated for a warm up on any day due to its versatility. .
🤓For me, I am using this on my upper day due to emphasis on shoulder stability. This exercise puts the shoulder in a variety of positions while being flexed, forcing both stability and time under tension (stability x2 for ya boy). Give it a go! #strengthandconditioning#bettereveryday#earnit#turkishgetups#shoulderstability#snatchready
