Exciting announcement for my fellow aspiring gardeners + garden lovers! 🌱☀️💕 (SWIPE to see the goods 😍)
I have found the most magical place on earth...& it's right in our own backyard! Our own little garden ❤️ Creating our garden has been one of my favorite things I've ever done. It's been so fulfilling getting to build this alongside my husband, harvest the fruit together & see new growth daily...it's kind of like Christmas everyday lol 🎄
Since sharing our gardening journey here in IG...I have had so many of your reach out to me & share that you have been inspired to start a garden of your own...how amazing is this?! On the flip side - many of you have also said you had no clue where to even start when it comes to building your own garden beds. Trust us - we didn't know either (it took us 3 tries to get it right - you can watch my Garden 1 highlight to see the process!) but we found our groove & couldn't be happier with our sturdy, durable & extremely well-built beds that my hubby built for us all by himself. He is SO talented! 😍
After hearing that others are lacking the resources, tools, & carpentry skills to build their own garden beds...Daniel & I thought - HEY! Why don't we help YOU build your garden beds!? The cool thing is - they don't have to be exactly like ours - you can customize the size & design to what would fit your needs & sizing of your space - woohoo!
Honestly, It broke my heart thinking that lacking the access to someone who can build you your own garden beds would hinder you having the garden of your dreams ...oh, no hunny - We are here to help! If you have been on the fence or interested in starting your own garden...we would LOVE to help you build you your own amazing, durable & beautiful garden beds that will last you years - we would love to help you get started!
If you're interested, just shoot me a DM & we can chat all about the details! Daniel & I are so excited to help others create the foundation to having the garden of their dreams ❤️ #ChandrasCollection

As a child I always looked forward to spending the night with my grandparents here because the sound of the creek through the open windows and my grandmother’s fresh linens made for the most restful and luxurious night’s sleep. Funny enough, I don’t know what it was she used in her laundry, but the scent of her linens was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. She has been gone since 2005, but the old linen closet still has that fresh scent.
She loved a pretty bed and was very particular about no one ever sitting on them once they were made. And beds were made first thing every morning. I guess I got that from her because I surely love and cherish getting to crawl into a fresh and clean bed after a long day and love getting it made up first thing in the morning.
For summer, I wanted to change some things around so I decided to use the yellow velvet portieres I rescued from a local historical building that was being sold. I made the bed with a vintage pink chenille spread I had along with an antique baby quilt from a family friend. I made the blue ticking stripe pillow cases, and my grandmother, Isabelle, made the sweet hot pink pillow. Along with her 1950s chalk ware lamp, the antique bed I restored from the property here, her trunk, the creek right outside my window, and a few other family treasures, my room has the exact feel I remember from my childhood.
It’s those little details that make things special, and the memories they conjure up are — to me — priceless❤️❤️❤️
An extra day at the cabin calls for a celebration!🍻🎶

A few friends stayed at our house this weekend to celebrate Chris’s birthday and it was so fun sharing our home updates! Hanging out around the kitchen island with people we love was exactly what we had in mind when we designed it. Swipe left to see the before photos of the kitchen 1 year ago!
🇺🇸 Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸 This is the first year we’ll be remembering my father-in-law on this holiday since his passing this past Fall. He was an army man through and through. He was tough, strong, brave, and a proud American who loved his country. I’ll never forget the moment at his funeral when military members in their dress blues presented a flag to my mother in law and taps were played. 😭❤️ Such an emotional thing to witness, but I LOVE the way the United States honors it’s heroes for their honorable and faithful service. I can’t express my gratitude greatly enough to ALL those who serve and have served. As they say, “Land of the free BECAUSE of the brave.” Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy Memorial Day America, let freedom ring! 🇺🇸

Just a very beautiful house that I saw in Connecticut! "Springstead" it says on it, I couldn't find any info in it right now. But I'll definitely try to do some more research and update this caption if I ever find anything 😊
We picked our last bouquet of lilacs today. 😭 That lilac bush was the BEST surprise of this home!
It’s been a hot second since we’ve chatted about pets so I want to hear about yours! Chloe here is almost 5 and is a rescue from @secondhandhounds. We got her when I was pregnant with Roy and she’s as sweet as can be (and living her best life as you’ve seen in my stories 😂). Do you have a pet?! How many dogs vs cat people are there here?

Happy Memorial Day, Weekend! So thankful for those who fight for our freedom and to live in the USA. May God bless America. ⭐️🇺🇸🤍
⠀ @oneroomchallenge furniture update: I’m the most undecided human EVER, so as of today I finally decided on which color to paint our furniture! We took a trip to @homedepot, got @kilzbrand primer, @behrpaint for cabinets and trim (can you guess what color we chose? 🤔), and some paint trays! Stay tuned because this week it is FINALLY getting painted - IT WILL HAPPEN. I am refusing to let myself avoid starting in fear of messing it up. 😅 #oneroomchallenge
Jarrett was so excited to get a big ol’ American flag up for this weekend but unfortunately, it’s supposed to continue to rain all week here so we’ll just be hanging out at home. ⛈ Do you have any fun plans for Memorial Day?
Who wants this rug?! 🤗 I have partnered with @loloirugs to GIVEAWAY this Theia rug in Granite/Ivory (you can choose up to their 7’10x10’ size). This room makeover I did for my kids would not be the same without this rug. It is incredibly soft and I adore the vintage vibe it brings to this space.
Here’s how to enter:

The hall closet is like the kitchen junk drawer... are we right? It holds all the things and is usually a hot mess. BUT not this closet. We used the hang bar for bags + linens, then contained all the things on the shelves. There is not much more satisfying than this 💥💣
Who’s ready for a dinner with friends? Since we can’t get together around the same table, here’s a dining space that is not only dreamy but also comes with guaranteed good company. Check out my friend Mansa from @thisissimplicite. ⠀
So invite yourself to the dinner party, go and check out this dining space (and the rest of her beautiful home!) and check in next week to see who’s place we are heading to for dinner next Sunday.

This weeks update for the @oneroomchallenge by @betterhomesandgardens :
How to not get anything done?
Step 1) have a dental emergency ☑️
Step 2) take two days to recover☑️
Step 3) alter wedding dress for elopement
Step 4) do flowers for elopement.
I hesitated to write this post this week, by then I realized that showing the real life truth of doing a project needed to be shared too. 😊
Looking forward to showing some improvements this next week.
Ps. I did find a rug for the project.
We just posted our first tutorial on our stories and highlights. We are nothing close to @ourfauxfarmhouse but ya gotta start somewhere right?!🤣

S U N D A Y F U N D A Y 🌸 Spent a good chunk of yesterday garden hopping and it felt SOOOOOO good to be out and about - even with a face mask on 😂! I’m sharing all my finds in stories today along with a little garden update 🌱 #ihavethisthingwithflowers
We are pulling out all the flags to celebrate Memorial Day. 🇺🇸 Do you have any special plans? Kansas City BBQ is on the menu at our house. Fire up that smoker. I also have a simple flag cookie cake recipe on the blog. I’ll add a link in stories. It’s so yummy. Blessings to you as we remember the sacrifices of others.❤️ #thankyouforyourservice 🇺🇸 .
When I look at this shelf in our guest bathroom, it’s clear that I just can’t let go of Fall 🤔😂 #shelfiesunday

Well, I didn’t even come close to finishing my to-do list today 🤷🏻♀️ I blame my friend from @old_vintage_road for letting me pick through her garage this morning for a whole bunch of new goodies, including more vintage clocks for my collection, some brass candlesticks, and this super precious old crate that I planned to put in the kitchen but am sort of diggin’ here with my @looselinen blanket.
This might be the most controversial thing I’ve ever said on Instagram...but we are thinking about closing off the new morning room as one of our next projects! 😂 After brining in other furniture, every configuration we tried felt awkward, like we needed more separation between the breakfast table and the desk. Swipe ➡️ to see a rendering of our vision at this point, keeping a five foot opening on the right side for natural flow and light and building a barn door that could close off the space for study time (barn door design is no where near final and would likely include glass). We thought about double barn doors or French doors in the center, but after laying it out, the breakfast table is just too close to allow for good flow into the room. I would love to hear your thoughts down in the comments!
Soooooo week 3 of the @oneroomchallenge! Painting the Paddle House! .
After the structure renovation we had actual painters paint the restored structure. So all I had to do was the fun stuff. .
I took the antique paddles that came with the cottage and painted them up for decor! Remember I’m going for that Summer Camp kind of feeling, nothing too serious so my painting is good enough (but barely). I also reused the metal kitchen cabinet on the dock when we remodeled the kitchen, and painted that thing yellow over it’s previous blue. Love it, it’s so happy! .
The paddles vaguely reference an arrow design on this area’s sailing club flag, the original owners heir gave me the 1934 wool flag, and if you saw our kitchen in the Cottages and Bungalows story, you’ll remember the arrow on the hood there, too. .
The life ring was to bring in a teensy bit more yellow, because I don’t think I can stand to buy another pillow when I have 86. No joke. I own 86 throw pillows. I counted after the fire. .
And I did a little bit on the swings! Why not. I did a Swiss flag for Andrew’s dad, and a red white and blue for his all-American mom. My parents are American too, so they’re covered! .
What a fun week working on the dock in the gorgeous weather! .
Enjoy the holiday. So grateful for so many things, our freedoms are on the list. Tell me what you are up to this weird Memorial Day in comments! I’m so curious! .

This attic project finally feels like I'm gaining momentum. I went and bought 2x4s so I can frame up the knee walls and build a platform so I can work over the stairs. Then I can fix the insulation above the stairs, install 1.5" rigid foam over it, and I'll be ready to hang drywall. 😱 That is such a huge milestone and I'm looking forward to have that step complete. My goal is to be hanging drywall late next week. Also, I haven't forgotten about my shower. I think I'll come back to it once the drywall is hung.
Peony + porch sitting all day. The week they bloom is always one of my favorite of the year! My husband bought me this new red one for Mother’s Day last year and she gave me the prettiest pom pom bloom.

RED + WHITE + BLUE MIX // this treat mix 🇺🇸 is so fun + easy + yummy. Sharing how to make for yourself on stories!! Snag all the ingredients here: https://shopstyle.it/v/NRt
I hope you caught my little drive I took you guys on in my stories today! 🚗 I can’t tell you how many messages I got from people asking for more videos around where I live and more info on this part of Texas! I definitely need to do a whole blog post about what it’s like living in the north Dallas area, and how it compares to other places we have lived (i.e. northern Cali, Arizona, Charlottesville, VA, and Seattle)...stay tuned for that soon! 🤗 Also, I’ve been rounding up some of the great Memorial Day sales this weekend! This gorgeous coffee table and the matching side table are on sale (clearance prices, in fact...the best price I’ve seen on these tables)!! Also, the Lady Bird rug (shown here in natural gray) is in stock in several sizes! Have a great night!
I often have clients tell me they want their homes to have a coastal feel, but that they definitely don't want to see any starfish or seashells hanging on the walls. And I get it... I've seen a lot of "coastal" homes gone wrong. When I think of coastal I think more about feelings and emotions than anything else... that relaxed feeling that settles into your body when you're near the ocean.
That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve when I design. So we focus on warm textures, natural elements, and cozy furniture, and we end up with the most welcoming, relaxing space... without being cliche ocean themed 🙌🏼
