Tiger nest also known as Paro Taktsang. This is the most holiest monastery in bhutan and they say that you have to come here once in a lifetime.
So, we went to paro just to see this. This monastery is at an altitude of 3300 ft from ground and we have to do a trek of 5-6 km to reach there. We started this trek at 12.20 pm, & we thought that we could reach there in 3 hrs but the mountain was so steep and it was really difficult. But looking at old people coming down, we were very inspired to do this. And all the people who were coming down was just saying one thing that "once you reach the viewpoint you will forget everything". And to be honest, we reached there at 4.30 and this was the view. We forget everything, we forget every pain.
I just want to say one thing about this place, that I haven't seen the world, but I have seen #bhutan 🇧🇹 .

Pursuit in Happiness - International Yoga Retreat by @yogasalain and @yoga_trails from Oct 5-12, 2019.
We explored the idea of 'Santosham' (contentment) mentioned in Yoga Sutras during this retreat. And what better place to do this than in the country which declares, "Happiness is a place". 😊
I'm immensely grateful for the learnings I've received and for the opportunity to share it with the world around me in such beautiful places. Bhutanese hospitality, kindness and love for nature is so inspirational and gives all of us a benchmark to aspire for.

Jennifer's understanding of India, combined with the specialist knowledge of local guides, provided the background to two of the most enthralling weeks of my life. The itinerary covered everything from gritty street life to privileged luxury, opening up a view of India that I cannot imagine finding any other way. Incredibly beautiful scenery, wonderful food, the opportunity to meet local residents in their homes and workplaces and a truly congenial group of like-minded people to share it with made this trip a one-off that I will never forget. Gho, a knee-length robe is a traditional attire worn by Bhutanese men while females wear the Kira, a long dress covered by a light outer jacket known as a Tego with an inner layer known as a Wonju. The Gho is tied at the waist area by a sash known as Kera which can be seen in tbe above photo. Apart from the vibrant colors which asthetically present the national identity, the tying by the Krea allows the formation of a pouch enabling men to carry various items ranging from food bowls in the past to mobile phones at present. Required by the country, all men are to wear the Gho if they work in a government office or school.
Being in Bhutan, Buddhist monks in red robes is an integral part of your sight. They are one among the most privileged communities in Bhutan. At tango monastry, thimphu where we met this young charming monk, we were astonished to hear their lifestyle. Joining the monastery at a very young age, they spend major part of their life studying.
We were stoped from entering into one part of the monastery and to our curiosity we enquired about the reason. This place is where the monks spend almost 3 years in isolation meditating on their own.
Being with one’s self for all those years - I have no idea how one might endure that. I have nothing but respect for them.
Faces of Bhutan
When I was in Bhutan, I learnt something really important. I learnt that we focus too much on the negatives and not enough on the positives.
And since then, I have been observing how we interact with people around us. With kids, adults, animals, everyone. And it is sad that we can only focus on the flaws and not enough on the good traits.
So, can I ask you to promise me something?
Next time, you see someone. It could any anyone, you family or friend or a stranger. Just focus on one good thing about them and let them know. It could be their smile or their hair or their eyes or how they make your laugh or how talented they are.
It could be anything. And you might feel it doesn't make a difference, but trust me it does. Because hearing that you are a beautiful human being or that you are funny or kind is always going to make your heart happy.
And I want you to compliment the kids the most. Because in today's world, these small angels are the ones who suffer the most. Every kid should feel they are good and pretty/smart and shouldn't be made felt like they are lacking or not enough.
So, do it. Make someone smile today. And I promise you, it will be the best moment of your entire day. :)
