it’s #glutenfreefriday !
this week, i’m going to show you another side to my service dog training that isn’t about checking foods before ma eats them.
i’m also trained to “search” a room for gluten. that means that when i enter a room, ma can tell me to “search!” and i’ll go find and tell her about any gluten in the room.
i am WAY into searching right now. it’s like a game! in this video, ma hides a jar with just a trace amount of gluten in it (cereal crumbs that you can barely see). she tried really hard to fool me by hiding it under a pillow in the corner and making me wait way down the hall so that i couldn’t see where she put it but i still found it right away. extra treats, please?
(introduction for any newbies: i’m a gluten detection service dog! when a food has gluten in it, i sit. when a food is gluten free, i lay down. for those of you interested in your own service dog - not just for gluten - check out @creatingnewtails)
today, ma and i are starting to listen to “how to be an antiracist” by @ibramxk. we’re committed to doing this work and not just bandwagoning on social media...and you should be, too. black.lives.matter.
