Sometimes when I snap photos of him on our walks along the very river that used to run through what used to be my family’s farm, the farm my dad grew up on and worked on until it was sold in the 90s, and I see a light streak or sun flare fairy, I wonder if it’s my dad on the other side showing us he’s here watching.
I used to pick blackberries on this river trail while my dad went fishing. We used to feed our cows here. There is nothing left of that now but memories and echos, but the river still trickles through, reminding me of how things used to be and grounding me back into the present moment... I have a feeling my dad does love our puppy. And our pup loves him back. ❤️ #blacklabpuppy#blacklab#labsofinstagram#greatpyrenees#puppy#dogtraining

Look at this sweet little munchkin! Today I found out some bittersweet news. On Friday me and Naomi will be headed back to Louisiana... and she won’t be coming back with me. Her initial recall date was May of 2020, but an amazing opportunity came up that Naomi was just the right fit for. Instead of going to graduate to help a veteran, Naomi was chosen to be career changed to be trained for diabetic alert for another organization. I am super excited for her and for all the potential that she can show this new organization, but I am also obviously sad that she is leaving me sooner than expected. I know she’s going to do amazing things and I cannot wait to hopefully see what the future has in store for her! I will be posting some pictures from our farewell photo shoot we had last weekend with our good friend Emily. I cannot thank her enough for these amazing and memorable photos 💛
