THROWBACK to the #pregnancy days. ❤️ Transitioning from a family of 3 to a family of 4 was honestly very seamless (if I’m speaking for myself.) I was graduating from George Washington University with my Master’s in counseling and secure in my job at the time. Bruce had then, recently gotten his promotion at work and had a little more flexibility than we were used to (perfect timing!) And Brucey had NO reservations about being a big brother. He was beyond excited and he settled into his role with honor from the day we told him the big news❤️ However, as I’ve mentioned before there were times that were very difficult for me simply because of where I was in my life. Being pregnant while working full time, going to school full time - while also balancing internship and taking care of my boys was A L O T! Brielle’s arrival came at a time where my mind, body and soul NEEDED the 2.5 month break removed from working and school. I am so grateful that I had such a pleasant pregnancy experience with Brielle. I worked up until the day before my due date (even if I was arriving in leggings and flip flops🤣.) However, I ate horribly/rarely exercised during my pregnancy and gained the most weight of my life!! Definitely something I regret from my experience. I’ll be sure to do a post about my journey through weight loss and the work I put in to get back down to (almost) my pre-baby weight!!! •

These were some of my favorite shots we were driving to one location when we saw this adorable cafe that fit the theme of our shoot. These felt like we took these in a small village in Italy or France yet we were down the street from my house. Our goal is to travel the world and these pictures made us want it that much more ! Do you like to travel ? If yes what was your favorite trip/where did u go? If no, what is holding you back and or why doesn’t it interest you? .

IDC IDC IDC ‼️‼️‼️‼️ this movie was fucking beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️ It was pure, honest, real, inspiring, sexy, courageous, and passionate! To see black love 🖤 without drama, without deceit, without struggle made my hopeless romantic heart MELT. ❣️ This was very refreshing especially since I’m newly single. It felt good to see a black love story that didn’t involve struggle love and cheating. I’m OVER that narrative. 🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️ Cristina and Isaac’s love story was full of regret and the way Mae used her mom’s story to go ahead and fall was heartwarming. Plus young Isaac @ylannoel is fiiiinneee 🤤 and @lakeithstanfield3 is finnneeeee 😍 and I really enjoyed watching both of them 🤤🥰 if you want a dramatic film, then this is not for you. This movie is smooth and flows through love. 💋✨💫
That’s that “I just married a good black woman “ glow !!! Follow @theposhstandard for a new standard of black excellence

In the beginning of every relationship, infatuation settles in. The butterflies, long lasting phone calls, dates just to be near & in each other’s presence. The late night talks about the future, getting to know one another. The very things that created a spark which turn into flames. ——— I remember those days so vividly. Sophomore year of college when Anthony & I became friends. We had the same circle of friends so we started seeing each other more often around campus. Wasn’t love at first sight. Just two people who wanted to get to know each other on a deeper level. Seven years later & I still get excited when I’m learning new things about him. ———— I don’t ever want to become so comfortable that I stop connecting with him. This is one of the very things I try my hardest at being intentional with. Though seasons change, I’m reminded that the flame that burned in the beginning, can burn just as bright. It doesn’t have to be dimmed because we’ve been together for awhile. ————— Reconnecting & keeping the flame alive doesn’t have to result in huge changes. Will it always be easy? NO. But is it necessary to continue engaging with your significant other & putting in the work to sustain that fire? YES. Just getting back to the basics where it all started can restore what you once thought was dead.
Asking questions. Learning new things about each other. Creating memories by planning dates, even if it’s just at home. Praying for each other. Listening before assuming. Not pointing out every flaw but celebrate their strengths. Forgiving often. Being present & intentional with the time you have together. Respecting each other’s boundaries. It’s the little things that spark something within your relationship bringing back the flames. In what ways can you be more intentional & bring life back into your relationship?
