Rise and shiiiinnnree 🌞
Hope everyone had a great weekend, it’s freezing in Boston so you’re gurl definitely enjoyed being a hermit 🦀 with her besties.
When all else fails try and find that special friend that is equally as crazy as you about traveling. I can literally see a flight deal, hit up @whothehellslisa and she enables my crazy habits by saying yes immediately to booking the trip with me lmao.
Sometimes flying solo isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so if you’re one of those people I encourage you to find that plus 1 who will be down to go anywhere with you! There’s a whole world out there waiting for you to explore it 🌍 .
Travel can be stressful and traveling with a child 👶🏾 can intensify the feelings. I’ve always had a pretty easy time traveling with Ruth by altering my traveling behavior and ALWAYS giving myself more time than I think I will need. We have an 8:45am flight and I was at the airport by 6am. Pre Ruth, I would have gotten to the airport at 8am, but with Ruth things happen plus she has baby stuff and it can take a bit to get her in and out of the stroller and through TSA lines. She can decide to poop and need to be cleaned up. She can have a meltdown and need to be calmed down. Not having to worry about racing to a plane with an 25lb person and her things makes flying so much easier for me. (2) We only fly at night or in the early morning. During night flights, I dress Ruth in her PJs and prepare her for bed. For AM flights, I typically don’t take her out of her PJs. (3) o always change her diaper immediately before we get on our flight. Keeping Ruth fresh and clean makes everything that much more pleasant (4) I go to sleep super early the night before. It’s so important for me to be well rested before a flight! It helps me manage stress and keep my cool no matter what gets thrown at me. #BTM#travelingwithatoddler#travelnoire#blacktravelista#blackkidsdotravel#travelwithkids#travelwithkidtips

🏛 • PARTHENON • 🏛⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did you know:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* Construction of the Parthenon started in 447 BC! This makes it 2,465 years old.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* It was once used as a Christian church and a Turkish Mosque.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* The structure was heavily destroyed during an explosion back in 1687. It’s been under reconstruction for the last 40 years.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you plan on visiting the Parthenon, don’t wear Sandals like my dumb ass! 🤦🏽♂️ The walk up the Acropolis to the Parthenon, is slippery. The hills are steep and consists of limestone and marble rocks which made it tricky for people. Also, it was extremely hot (93 degrees) which was expected. So hot, that my niece and I had to buy hats to avoid getting additional sunburn. If you’re concerned about the heat, you may want to consider the early morning tours or evening tours as the temperatures may be more tolerable. All in all, this was a very informative tour and a must when visiting Athens.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"What you have taken, has been from here. What you have gave, has been given here. What belongs to you today belonged to someone yesterday, and will be someone else tomorrow" - Ancient Hindu Principle✨
My legs are still sore from making this 400+ trek up the colorful steps of the Bantu Caves. PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS PLACE JUSTICE!. The top tourist attraction and a tribute to the Hindu faith the caves are like nothing I've ever seen. Growing up in the DMV we would always go to Lurray Caverns in VA so I was slightly familiar with Caves before but the mixture of the natural landscape and spiritual awakening (several Hindu temples are in the Caves) is like none other! Not to mention the Cave is inhabittaed by over 100 monkeys that love coca-cola lol!!! Being the most popular Hindu shrine that's not located in India and the formation of the cave said to be over 400 MILLION years old, I don't know why this place isn't a world wonder !?! Or higher on people's must see list!?! It's workout, sacred religious ground , monkey sanctuary and like a color art pop up museum in one !
Ofcourse this is #prettyrisky but I am one to buy my plane tickets at the last minute. Sometimes I say deep prayers for spirit to hold tight on the rates until I get my ish together.😅
Trust, this has worked for me in the past when the trip is in alignment with who I am. 😌 #spiritualfreak
Generally speaking, you can still snag the best ticket rates two weeks prior to your departure day depending on where you are flying.
I use sites like
Spirit.com (or I roll up to the airport kiosk)
I put spirit to the test with my flight to Mexico! I purchase my tickets four days before departure and was still able to get my good rate😅
Spent the day chilled to the bone but this photo warms my heart even so. I'll never forget my trip to Barcelona for so many reasons- one of them being perfect weather.
What do you love about Barcelona? .

“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” – Bill Bryson 📷: @jussfreshmedia

Out of the 5 countries I’ve visited this past year, Egypt was definitely my favorite. I’ve been to other underdeveloped countries, but this one just felt different. I feel sooo ungrateful for the things that I have and am able to do. We are so spoiled. The Egyptians don’t have much but they’re still super hospitable, respectful, they love their women, and they LOVE their history! Our hot air ballon ride over the city of Luxor was one of the best experiences ever; tears literally started to form. Best trip, hands down. 🙌🏽 🇪🇬
