Here is a post to share the love! Thanks to Miquela @greathonourgoods doing a thoughtful get to know the people behind the business challenge! 💗 #honourtheowner Go check her out and give her page some love too! ☺️ I thought this would be a wonderful challenge to participate in and reintroduce myself to some of my new followers 💕
Hi, I’m Jordan Flory, owner of The Eclectic Gem, momma to a sweet 18 month old little boy and a wife to my high school sweetheart. I opened The Eclectic Gem three weeks ago. It has been in the works for quite some time and finally took a leap of faith, pushing aside all fears. Almost 5 years ago, I left my southern roots and moved out west, starting a new life here in Oregon. I worked full time in mental health as a skills coach up until I had my son. With an on-call shift from time to time, I mostly stay home to care for our son. I longed for a creative outlet that allowed me to be home during these precious years. Everything just kind of clicked when I decided to join my love and passion for treasure hunting, decorating, thinking creatively and making art into a business sharing vintage, unique and handcrafted items. I am inspired by an eclectic mix of Bohemian, Moroccan, Global, Mid Century Modern and Art Deco styles. As with my art, I enjoy making colorful, textured, mixed media pieces.
Just for fun… some other random things to know about me 😆 I’m a Rockhound. I have experienced a tornado and multiple hurricanes. I love boiled peanuts (which I miss so much and can’t get here in Oregon!) I love to travel! We drove across the country on our move here and was able to contribute to the Cadillac Ranch art installation piece in Amarillo, TX. It was also a big reason why I wanted to take that route! I remember seeing pictures in my Mamaw’s photo album when they went there back in 1994!
I appreciate all of you 💗✨ ✨I nominate my local ladies, Andrea @mondaymorningvintage and April @fiberandblood ✨

As much as I would LOVE to buy bits for the house now, it’s been fun experimenting and changing about what I already have 😊
This rug from @ikeaie I had in the dressing room but now I’m going in a different direction for that room. So I grabbed this rug and tried it in every room in the house 😂
Turns out, the half landing was the best spot 😍 helps that it covers the mess 😂
It’s giving me all the boho vibes, a look I wasn’t thinking of going for but now...I think we might have to roll with it 👌🏼🌿

Hope everyone is staying safe out there! What are you doing to pass the time? New hobbies, homeschooling, spring cleaning??
Dont forget we have a virtual macrame class coming up Friday April 10 at 7pm. Head to the link in our bio to purchase the plant hanger kit and lock in your spot!

✨ Painting more rainbow dreams✨
I honestly can not thank you enough for all the love and support I’ve received over the last few days. It’s blown me away 💕
i am reading a lot of books at the moment. i know it's a problem.
📖 RETURN OF THE KING // jrr tolkien
📖 JANE EYRE // charlotte brontë
📖 BETWEEN THE WORLD AND ME // ta-nehisi coates
📖 THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD // zora neale hurston
which one will i finish first? it is a mystery 👻 .
in other news, i finished annie dillard's THE WRITING LIFE, a beautifully written memoir about the craft of writing. the takeaway: writing is hard. .
what are you reading at the moment?
Pathway to Self (1 and 2), 12 x 9 in. acrylic and vinyl on paper.
From the SWEET series that's releasing on Friday 🎉🧁
Did you check your inbox for the sneak peek and words about what ”Sweet” is all about? If you want to receive it you can DM me with your email. I'll also be sharing more in the coming days.
Thank you for being here during this weird (but needed. for myself and maybe for you, too.) time to be releasing new art into the world.
I'm really happy that this is the work that lined up with this moment, because its all about sweetness as a portal to divine truth. Something I've been trying to lean into pretty hard these days.
As I shared in my email,
My hope is that this series will be an accessible one. Pieces will range from $65-$250 with a few canvas works exceptions.
And, in light of the times, I'm doing something I've never done with new work before.
I'll be offering 15% off everything just for the first week. I know it's not a lot, but I'm hoping it can offer just a little bit of assistance in us supporting each other right now.
(pst! You can use this on older pieces you may have had your eye on too). If you're excited about this new work, another way you can lend support is by sharing about it. Things like that are so appreciated and go a long way.
I love you all. And I'm counting down til Friday!
The Zen Setup💫
That's my 2 year old bonsai wrighthia tree🌳
And some monks resting beneath.
It's basically a showcase of the minimalistic life that monk's live.
That's why it's truly said you will always find the most happiness through small things in life.
