My tryst with Bombay and Irani cafes was because of my grandfather who I used to accompany on my school holiday on Thursdays to Persian Restaurant and Stores at Grant Road for tea and bun/brun.
Later with WSD(@wsdindia), I experienced the kindness of the Irani Cafes towards street cats and dogs who were always welcomed by them and called us for their treatment.
Be it Britannia's dogs and cats, Bastani's very many cats who used to hang out under the Irani Bent Wood chairs, the Mondegar doggie who used to hide behind the counter thinking he could hide from me and escape getting treated, Brabourne Restaurant's dogs one of whom was called Daisy, Ideal Corner's cat, Rohington from B Merwan, Raja and Rani of the Majestic Restaurant and Stores at Capitol Theatre who were in and out of the restaurant, Paradise Cafe's Motu and other dogs and cats and so many more Irani Cafes and their street dogs and cats.
This photograph shows my long standing association with the Irani Cafe dogs and cats and the Kohinoors going back to the now closed Bastani when I used to go to treat the cats.
The photo has from L to R, the late Mr Meherwan Kohinoor, the late Mr Boman Kohinoor, me and Mr Afshin Kohinoor taken at Britannia by my sister. 📷 @alpanaaras

Have you ever travelled with a stranger? 🤔
I’m not talking about meeting someone in a hostel and going out for a day, or following them to the next city.
I’m talking about legitimately planning a trip with someone you’ve never met before.
Before going to India I had only talked with @blairvmeeks on Instagram, we were online buddies who decided to take a chance on each other and plan a trip! Figuring out the logistics, budget, flights and accommodations proved to be a bit of a challenge online but we did it!
We decided to meet in a Mumbai for a few days then travel to Nepal and trek for 3 weeks!
It’s a huge commitment to make when you’ve never met someone but I could tell from chatting with her that we would get along great.
We went through literal hell on that trek and came out the other side with some amazing stories and a new best friend! 👯♀️
