Did you know that @fedex was once on the verge of bankruptcy? In 1971, they started out with eight planes, covering 35 cities. Unfortunately, in the first two years, rising fuel costs contributed to millions of dollars in debt, leaving the firm with a meagre $5000. #BrandScan#BrandScan2019#FedEx

Has it ever occurred to you that two of the most loved, rival sports brands across the world, Puma and Adidas share the same history?
After his return from World War I, Adolf "Adi" Dassler founded Adidas by making sports shoes in his mother's laundry room in Herzogenaurach, Germany. In July 1924, his older brother Rudolf joined the business, renaming the company to “Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory”. Dassler brothers split up after their relations collapsed in 1947. Rudolf formed a new company called Ruda - from Rudolf Dassler, which was later renamed as Puma, and Adolf Dassler founded a company officially registered as Adidas AG from Adi Dassler on 18 August 1949.
"Whats in a name?", you might ask.
A lot, especially if its a branded one known the world over!
The brand name "Virgin" came about when @richardbranson and Nik Powell formed a record shop. Branson has described the "V" in the logo as an expressive tick, representative of the Virgin seal of approval. The red color of the logo is the epitome of Virgin’s red hot attitude that is sophisticated yet playful, glamorous yet cheeky, stylish yet flirty.
Ever wondered how did the logo of the auto giant @bmw come about?
While many believe that the checkered design represents the aircraft propeller, there's another element of Eureka attached to it.
The logo, commonly called the 'roundel' is essentially a combination of the Rapp Motorworke logo, the parent company of BMW and the Bavarian flag.
It's symbolic of the company's early history in the aviation technology.
EMC MANIPAL ♥️♥️
My MBA journey would be incomplete without the mention of this bunch!! A challenge and journey like BrandScan would be so incomplete and impossible without you guys.
From fighting with each other to laughing to pulling each other's legs to crying. We have seen it all. The roads of Manipal and Udupi will always remind me of the time we spent their. Kuch rahe ya na rahe, I know we will stay ♥️
To meeting abruptly on roads, To those Udupi bus rides, To those never ending late nights, To presentations, To meetings, To our first cheque, To shamelessly getting chucked out of stores, To getting screwed and still getting up the next day, To PMH, To shaky shaky, To never ending love and last but not the least, To the best team ever.
I love you ♥️♥️ #emcmanipal#brandscan#brandites#family#love#2years
