We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. -Jawaharlal Nehru .
A wild Zan & Shan en Amazonia.
We discovered this little lagoon deep in the Peruvian Amazon where we spent an hour swimming in the dead calm water wondering to ourselves what else might be lurking in the water... a tranquil moment in the largest rainforest in the world. #Amazonia#Peruadventure#sonyalpha

As I lay awake at 3:30am last night listening to a foghorn of a human on the bunk below me, I couldn’t help but make a list in my head of the worst things about backpacking. Look don’t get me wrong, I bloody love this lifestyle but as with everything in life, there are always some serious downfalls. So, you’re gonna hear it here first ladies and gentlemen, the top 5 worst things about backpacking:
1. As I have already said. “The Foghorns”. This has got to be the most relatable for everyone out there, whether it’s your partner, Dad in the other room of the house, or the person on the bunk below you, you can’t help but have the frustrations grow at an unreasonable rate. The symphony of chainsaws in any room is just unbearable. But the lingering question is, HOW HAVE YOU NOT WOKEN YOURSELF UP?!
2. The “One-Uppers”. Boy, oh boy do we encounter these people time and time again. They usually travel in pairs, Trent and I have established this after months of research. The first person is the one that does the “one-upping” whilst the sidekick A.K.A the “Egger-Onner” will be within an uncomfortable distance of you continuously coming out with the words: “Yeah!”, “It was CRAZY!”, “You wouldn’t believe what happened next!”. Okay, okay, anyone that knows myself and Trent can confirm that we love telling a good story in conjunction with each other, but at least we know when to take a breather.
3. The “Poop Room of Doom”. As I’m checking into my new hostel, I’m thinking to myself “Fab. An ensuite, how fancy.” Yeah sure, it feels fancy and I don’t get a lot of fancy feelings these days, so I’ll take it. That is until I walk into the ensuite to brush my teeth and WHAM one of the seven other people in my dorm has let loose of the ol’ bowels, giving no f**ks whatsoever. Whenever I’m in these types of situations, I can feel the poo particles attaching them to my clothes which means yet ANOTHER laundry day.
…still reading? Finish the last two shitty things about backpacking in the comments because,…when did instagram get a caption limit?

Found my future home today. Just waiting on my pumpkin to turn back into a carriage so I can move all my belongings inside. ✨😉⠀
Normally when I take photos of new places, I find them online or hear about them through word of mouth. This tower that looks like something the Brothers Grimm might’ve thought up, on the other hand, was discovered while I was taking an alternative route to a place I drive to often. I would’ve surely missed it if I’d actually kept my eyes on the road in front of me. (Kidding). 😂⠀
I imagine this as Rapunzel’s tower... or the home of the witch from Hansel and Gretel... or the grandmother’s house from Little Red Riding Hood. Pretty magical. ✨🥀 ⠀

Off to new adventures! 🌏🛩
No matter how special the journey we are going to make now as a family, I will never forget our first long journey together (6 years ago!). We really went back to basic, not luxury, just adventure. From sleeping in the jungle to crowded (sleeping) buses, nothing was too crazy for us. Our journey will soon look very different, but this journey will also be a great adventure!
Op naar nieuwe avonturen! 🌏🛩
Wij gingen toen echt back to basic, geen luxe, alleen maar avontuur.

The name is an acronym for the area’s literal location Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It was meant to deter real estate brokers and the looming specter of gentrification.

Exploring Bangkok is a job never done. You just might find yourself going on a shopping spree and end up lost in a totally different part of town. Whether getting lost is intentional or not, you'll be amazed at most of the things you'll see. One of the best ways of getting lost and enjoying it, is hopping on one of those dirt t cheap river taxis through Thonburi's canals and letting that noisy-neon-concrete vortex swallow you. It's not until you reach a place like Wat Arun, you realize the contrast of all the noise and neon on one side and the serenity that once dwelled between those magnificent ancient temple walls on the other- that is when you subtract all the tourists crawling around. While some are enjoying one of those perfect sunsets on Koh Tao, others enjoying happy hours in a bar in Chiang Mai, third ones being shocked at all the neon lightening up Soi Cowboy, you'll find yourself on this perfect spot in the temple stairs, enjoying in silence all those tones in the sky. Untouched by all the hustle'n'bustle around, while the sun is slowly disappearing, making place for all the neon to take over. It's moments like this why the job can never be done.

The Devil Arrives 😈
Took this shot during the Correfoc of la Mercè in Barcelona. It’s a picture of one of the “demons” who chase festival goers with fireworks and sparks.

Walking the green line...🚶♂️🚶♀️
Lefkoşa, or Nicosia as it’s known to Greek Cypriots, is the capital city of Cyprus🇨🇾 It is the world’s only divided capital city, split down the centre by a UN buffer zone. Visiting the city is safe and very much worth it. Both sides of the city offer plenty to see and do and the buffer zone itself is fascinating. Be sure to Cross at Markou Drakou (Ledra Palace Hotel🏨) where you’ll find a section of the buffer zone you can freely wander into and you’ll also be able to stop for a coffee at the Home For Co-operation ☕️ Find out more in our guide to North Cyprus here ➡️
One of my favorite times to go out and shoot is when the sun goes down. If you have some clouds, some vehicles and nice background it makes for an awesome image. #tbt to @wildcenter when we went on a family road trip to upstate NY before we were fulltime rvers.
As an outdoor loving family we love hitting up nature centers and this one was epic as you got to hang out in the treetops as you climbed, walked & played amongst the elevated paths. Check’d another item off my bucketlist. Although if Im being honest every time I cross one item off two more are added to my ever growing list of places I want to see in America.
What place is on your bucketlist? Have you crossed an item off of it this year?
Fly Toronto to either Dallas, Houston or Austin TX for only $216 CAD roundtrip!! 🤠

Traveler @lienepeetersone says,
When you are tired of beach holidays at some point of your life, just go & see glaciers! Perito Moreno is the largest glacier in South America & it was like cherry on the cake for the end of our Patagonia trip.
It is incredible feeling stand next to 70m high wall of ice. The view is out of this world! If you are lucky enough, you can even hear ice cracking & pieces crashing into the water below, and when it happens it sounds as loud as explosions.
Our friends @explorerssaurus_ say,
Easy like Sunday morning 😎 yesterday we had a great day exploring these lagoons and it was the first time Miguel was able to float 🤗 but no worries, I will never let him sink no matter where we are ❤️ are you team Raquel (know how to float) or team Miguel (still trying to learn)? 🏊♂️ #VisitSouthAmerica#ExperienceChile @experiencechile
