Stop dreaming about your bucket list and start doing it! ✅
Running the NYC marathon was one of the coolest things I ever did! Not only the New York skyline, but the best supporters ever made me cross the finish line🏃♀️💪🏻
Thinking about my second marathon🤩
Remember the Alamo 🙏
During the war of Texas trying to gain its independence from Mexico, over 2,000 Mexican solders began a siege of the Alamo fort held by approximately 200 Texans, including David Crockett.

The city that never sleeps, where artist breathe, where many sleep, and some who may never eat.
Today I walked into @umamiburger to enjoy their free burger. Of course I went for the impossible burger because I’ve given up beef and poultry. But really got to me as I was walking home I overheard a customer who walked out behind me say, “the homeless have gotten word that there’s free burgers today” to someone on his phone. It broke my heart and I really wanted to say something to him as his wife was walking behind him and next to me now at this point.
First of all we must never forget to be kind. If you aren’t able to give anyone financial assistance, the least you can do is be nice. So what if the homeless has the opportunity to enjoy the same free meal that you did. What harm did it do to you and how did that affect your stomach.
I share this because it just broke my heart into pieces and there’s so much I want to do for the homeless community.
I’m constantly looking into ways that I can be of service. I live in California and homelessness is at an all time high. If you want to see better let’s do better and figure out ways to be a solution and not a problem. I really wished I had the finances to close down a restaurant for a day and dedicate it to the homeless so that they too can eat and enjoy a meal. That’s what’s on my bucketlist. And we must never forget where we are, where we come from and where we could be. Remember you aren’t better than the man who sleeps on the streets.

What a dream, Norway’s been the top of my #bucketlist forever, a magic experience, from solo travelling in a camper van chasing the lights, to sledding reindeer with the indigenous people, to droning a pod of 50 orcas feeding, everything about this place was unreal, including the cost of beer ($25 a pop). Now to settle down back in Aus, get focused & plan 2020, who knows what adventures will come... Norway, it’s been real 🥂 #travellife

-Bambusoideae or more commonly known bamboo.
-Commonly misunderstood and considered a weed because of its awesome rate of growth.
-Only needs 6 inches of soil to start growing.
-Grows bigger than the previous season.
-STRONG AS FUCK
We need to be more like bamboo.
Just because people may not understand you or support you at first, you have to be strong. Even if you have little to work with, you must not give up and you need to keep growing.
Once you establish your growth, people will notice and they will either support you or doubt you... but that can't stop your growth because you only get bigger!
And eventually something amazing happens. You realize that you've grown to be bigger, better, and stronger than you originally thought.
Be like bamboo 🎋🎋🎋

Another tick off that “ bucketlist” ✔️ ⠀⠀
okay final post on the hot air balloon ride, I’m just not over the fact that I did it😆
Some people would say going in a hot air balloon is on “ their bucketlist” and I have achieved a “bucketlist” goal. ⠀⠀
If you have read my blog post on bucketlists ( https://rachdoestravelling.wordpress.com/2019/02/03/kicking-the-bucket-on-bucketlists/ ) you will know all too well about my thoughts on the cliche and sometimes unachievable goals. We are guilty or aspiring to do things that are a little too outside our comfort zone and purely to tick it off and say we’ve done it, to somewhat follow the crowd. ⠀⠀
It becomes more of a to-do list and something that we feel is “ expected” of us to achieve, like the classic sky dives and swimming with dolphins, we can easily miss out on the spontaneous side of travelling, having tunnel vision on that one massive goal may mean missing 5 other amazing yet smaller experiences in its place. ⠀⠀
I feel bucketlists have become inauthentic now. So what if I don’t achieve these goals? Am I a failure? Although they may be a good thing to incorporate into your life and have some structure, you shouldn’t feel obliged to do them all. Achievements should be personal to you, you don’t have to go to the ends of the earth ( literally) to achieve what you want to do. Do not compare your experiences to others or achieve these epic goals simply to just tell someone about your achievements. ⠀⠀
Are we pursuing these epic bucketlist ideas for our own enjoyment or simply for the enjoyment to tell others about how much we enjoyed it? ⠀⠀
I was inspired by @adventurouskate idea of having a travel priorities challenge, a list of 5-10 travel ideas and only adding to them if you really really want to persue them and in two years aim to only achieve one. This is less intimidating, personal and reachable. It’s also generic and not focusing on one particular activity. ⠀⠀
What are your thoughts? Do you have your own bucketlist?
Day 25 (Nov 5th - Nov 9th) Thai Hoa - Ninh Bình - This was our longest ride yet, nearly 8 hours in the saddle. But what a beautiful ride it was through small towns and gorgeous villages. Simply beautiful. Upon arriving at our homestay in the village of Ninh Bình, we unpacked and went for a jolly to watch the sun setting over the numerous limestone mountains scattered across the rice field landscape as multiple young couples were being jostled and directed into various poses for their wedding photographers to get that perfect shot. Stunning! Reminds me a lot of Yang Shuo in China. On the way back we stopped for a beer and shot of rice wine. A shot. What we got was a tumbler of throat burning, paint stripping clear liquid that felt as if it was melting or insides. Holy shmoly! It was at that point we decided to have a bit of a rest and stay longer and do a few of the things 'to do' in Ninh Binh. One of which was the cave boating trip (posted about this earlier) Unfortunately our homestay was fully booked to we moved to another place just a few km away. A slight annoyance but we (Becca) choose wisely and we had a good rest. Not a place we'd want to live in though. Not close enough to the sea. So, to the mountains we go...

One month ago today I ticked off one of those #bucketlistgoals I'd dreamt about for many years.
I've spent the last month thinking about where to from here...?
I think I came to the conclusion that all roads lead to #kona 🏝🤘😜🤘 #IMWC#round2#dietrying
Super happy for all the amazing things that are about to come✨
Everyday when I wake up I always think about something that will make my day. This way I always stay positive and motivated to do more things, even those that I don’t really like. I used to check my phone right after waking up but then I realized that this affects my mood really bad and it makes me feel stressed for the rest of the day.
What’s the first think you do when you wake up?🌈
