Today was a vet day for Poshie. Which brings me to asking for a few opinions from people with their own fur babies!
She has always been in great health! Her weight has been amazing. She is super strong and has big muscles! Very LONG for a frenchie! But anyhow, she has always had these lighter spots on her belly! I’ve taken her to the vet for it before, and they told me it might be bug bites from laying in the grass. We have since moved and she doesn’t lay in the grass all day anymore, but still has these spots! Today I noticed that she has skin irritation in her ears, and she has been very tired lately.
The past few months we have switched her diet from kibble to raw food, because the kibble wasn’t doing super well for her. We tried a few different brands and proteins, grain kibble and non grain kibble. Now we have done mostly beef and turkey raw, but my vet thinks she is having some sort of allergy. I do agree that she doesn’t have the best energy these days which doesn’t make her seem like the happiest Poshie, but I’m just not sure what’s the right thing to change anymore! With the raw food, I had also introduced a greens supplement with her diet. But it’s still not enough. She has lost 3 pounds switching to the raw from kibble and is looking too skinny.
She has a virus called Papilloma, which is okay because it goes away. There’s nothing you can really do for it. But I’m wondering if I should be switching her diet, etc in the process. I’ve done so many things to try to get her health 100%. Don’t get me wrong, she looks amazing and isn’t struggling. I just want her to be feeling amazing and I can tell with her energy these days that she isn’t. My vet has suggested a hypoallergenic canned food diet and wants me to slowly introduce it to her this week and pull away the raw.
What would you do for your fur baby? I appreciate any advice or suggestions. I’m not sure if I should check a different vets opinion or switch her diet completely again.
