The core of marketing is the strategic use of technology to communicate or promote a message to capture the attention of a specific audience. When I first started my coaching business, I struggled to get paying clients and the clients I did get (no shade) was a headache to work with. 🙄⠀
Back in 2015, I was so anxious for the sale that I was willing to work with anyone willing to work with me. 😳 Even if I saw red flags... 🤷🏽 Even if they haggled my prices down to half my value... 🤦🏽⠀
In 2017, I made one key shift that changed everything. I got crystal clear on who my dream clients were. I knew I wanted to work with faith walking women with purpose, who were go-getters. Women who were serious about building a business and lifestyle that could change their lives and the lives of those around them. I studied my dream clients. Everything from their desires, shopping behaviors, social media activity and conducted dozens of surveys and interviews to collect demographic and psychographic data.⠀
Knowing who your product or service is BEST suited for is 80% of your marketing strategy.⠀
As you interact with clients (or potential clients) you should be collecting data: questions being asked, concerns customers have, common misconceptions or objectives, notes from consultations, SM comments or messages, challenges, etc.⠀
Essentially knowing who your target clients allow you to tailor your messaging so it resonates with your audience, evokes emotion and entices your audience to stretch forth their fingers to click the buy button.⠀
