Bus update no.1!
After finding a bit of rust in the floor and realising we needed to shift quite a lot of weight from the bus- the lift is now off the back (anyone need one!?) And the flooring is nearly out. We were nearly beaten by some of the flooring bolts but in the end the bus lost the battle and the games continue! #vwbusconversion#vwcamperconversion#whatthehellarewedoing#buslifeadventure

Making our way up north to Katherine over the next few days but first a quick stop at Devils Marbles! #devilsmarbles
Finally some movement on the Bus 🙌 Looking so good 👌
Roof done ~ Finally
Window seals now black
Dark grey on the pillars
Floor ~ Marine carpet for under bed storage area and lino through the living area
Lighting all wired up and ready to go
The parental unit was guiding today after deciding that Mike was a little too excited to get a nail gun. Mike was benched while the women had to take over construction. On a exciting note we tested out some finish paint on the bench. The first coat looks good but we probably need two more.

We have had so many questions lately in relation to our flooring choices. #shoutout below 👇👇 to our flooring crew for those embarking on their very own bus conversion.

"This is my first time in Wyoming and I am loving it so far! There are a lot of cool places to park a skoolie and enjoy nature. Can't wait to see more! In the meantime I'll enjoy this beautiful spot for a couple of days and get some work done!" - @art_we_there_yet
Wyoming is definitely one of those states you have to explore. While most head to the Yellowstone and Jackson Hole area of the state, there is much much more to Wyoming that many have yet to explore in a #skoolie
Up for the challenge?

New stickers arrived just in time for the @unitedtinyhouse show! Come tour the @staybirdbus tomorrow (10-5) and see us speak on modern homesteading (3pm) at the Georgia International Horse park in Conyers! Kids 12 & under are free and so are veterans and active military! Tickets still available at gate!
In celebration of our first show WITH our #airbnb#busconversion we are open to swapping stickers via mail since many folks couldn’t make it this year! Send us a message with your address and we will swap stickers!
Sometimes we forget that what we’re doing is a weird concept to others. It’s all just so normal to us now - To call a bus home, to live off grid and away from people 90% of the time, to spend all day everyday with each other, to conserve water and limit showers, to spend most of our time outside, to explore so many new places, and to own fewer items so that we can have more experiences.
Now more than ever, we are so grateful for this beautiful, “weird” life we chose to live.🚎
❤This is our skooli shower!!!!! This is the look of satisfaction. Kerry just finished the tiling phase of the broken plate mosaic tile in the shower of our skoolie! This took her a solid 15 months to get to this point!!! You rocked it Kerry! YOU ROCKED IT!!!❤

More memories! During our first week living and traveling in the bus we went to Badlands National Park. It was incredible! Adam drove slowly through the park with our bus door open so I could stand on the bottom step and take in the scenery in way not many are able to. We felt so fortunate to have created this life for ourselves, and we still feel that way. 🙌
Hey! We’re Parker and Kato and this is our #tinyhouseonwheels , Cecilia. The decision to build a skoolie was born from the idea of creating more stability in our lives. Working seasonal jobs and traveling meant living out of a backpack and other people’s space (when generously offered). Building a mobile home provided our own space to come back to and our own space to take with us. Nesting without roots!
Cecilia has provided a means for us to both live and work on the road. Even as we are in the process of closing down our business, Cecilia and the Kettle, we feel very fortunate to have a home that is uniquely ours- a home that will continue to provide opportunities as we move forward into the Great Unknown.
Thanks for being a part of this journey.
PS- @sarahharmsphoto took some amazing photos of us so this feed is about to look like we only wear these particular outfits (which isn’t far from the truth! Minimalism runs deep!)
