BUS WEEK! This week we learned all about bus safety, read some bus books, did a bus craft, and the best off all ended the week with a bus treat! My kiddos LOVED making their own bus, but I think they loved eating them even more! •
Graham Cracker with yellow frosting, mini Oreos for wheels, and teddy grahams for people!
Coman Hill students participate in Bus Safety Week! Each class was heavily engaged in an interactive demonstration showcasing proper bus safety measures such as crossing guidelines, bus etiquette, emergency procedures, and more. Next stop: Wampus Elementary! #beepbeep#byramhills#bussafety#comanhill
I was a bit confused to find this memo on my kitchen counter yesterday. While I was excited for Quinn, I was concerned a (this) Kindergarten student was being trained to “locate and use the ignition” of her school bus. I was relieved to find out an older neighbor left it at our house...along with their water bottle and empty snack wrappers. #parenting#schoolsafety#bussafety#afterschool#neighborhoodfriends
Have you checked out your campus or city Transportation Services? If you're taking a 🚌🚏 bus be aware of your surroundings before crossing the street. Make sure the bus is not about to proceed and that the driver sees you. 👀👇 #bussafety#transportation#visionzero#walksafe
We have some pretty awesome bus drivers in our district! They took the time to come to our school and show our students bus safety tips by putting on a little show for them!

Please be careful while driving. This is what a happy kid looks like and I don’t want any kids to get hurt. The school bus almost got in an accident today because someone ran a stop sign. Lots of kids hit their heads on the seats. The bus driver spent extra time talking to all the parents at our stop and making sure to get all of the names of the kids who were hurt. Please drive with caution. Your kid or your neighbour’s kid could be on that bus. #safety#schoolbussafety#bussafety

Parents, please be on the lookout for this form in your child's backpack. Thank you! #bussafety
SCHOOL BUSES WILL BE WATCHING YOU! The County Legislature's Public Safety Committee has passed a bill that will allow the county to install cameras on school buses. The cameras will be aimed towards the road to catch drivers who pass the bus illegally. First time offenders will see a fine of $200! #bussafety#LIschools#NassauCounty#sileringber ⠀
🛑🚌🚨 Stop for School Buses 🚨🚌🛑
Each day, thousands of drivers break the law when they fail to stop for the flashing lights and stop signs on school buses. According to a CBS report, an average of eight children a year are killed by drivers who ignore school bus stop signs. This report contains some harrowing camera footage. One car even hopped the curb and drove on the sidewalk to get around a stopped bus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3e4BJ9LB64
