Icaros are sacred songs which are used for healing purposes by the curanderos of the Amazonian basin.
Ayahuasca Icaros have traditionally been used to support communication with spirits and ancestors and to call in strength, guidance, healing and protection.
Curandero’s learn different Icaros’ to evoke different effects from their masters and many of these sacred songs are kept secret, known only by the curandero who will whistle the tune, whilst keeping the lyrics to himself.
Icaros for many indigenous tribes native to the Amazon are integral to their spiritual traditions and the wellbeing of their communities.
How are Icaros’ used?
During our Ayahuasca ceremonies, Icaros’ will be used to deepen our connection with the spirits and ancestors of the land and to invite in the life-changing healing potential of the sacred plant medicines into our bodies, hearts and minds.
The Icaros’ that are recited throughout the Ayahuasca ceremonies can also support us in navigating what may be an unfamiliar experience of altered consciousness. The Ayahuasca Icaros’ help us to stay grounded and provide us with the courage we need to face our deepest fears.
Rapé and Sacred Tobacco🌿
Nicotine may be a widely abused substance in our modern world, but to many indigenous cultures of the Americas, tobacco is a sacred plant known to cleanse both individuals and ceremonial spaces. That’s the case for rapé (pronounced “ha-peh”), a powerful, cleansing snuff used by shamans in Brazil and Peru as part of important medicinal rituals.
Rapé is gaining more popularity outside of the Amazon for its medicinal properties, and for people interested to try it, it’s important to find a reputable source for the sacred tobacco. While you can administer rapé yourself or with a trusted friend, it’s also important to educate yourself on its proper usage.
Benefits of Using Rapé
Rapé can help you in the following ways:
Helps focus and sharpen the mind.
Clears a person or space of distracting, bad energies in preparation for intention setting.

What is Rapé?
While rapé is often made of several Amazonian plants, the core of most rapé snuffs is the tobacco species Nicotiana rustica. This Amazonian tobacco, also known as mapacho, is used extensively in tribal rituals and is much stronger than N. tabacum, the type of tobacco found in cigarettes.
In addition to the tobacco, rapé usually includes the alkaline ashes of other plants such as cinnamon, tonka bean, clover, banana peel, or mint, but many shamans keep the exact ingredients of their particular rapé a secret.
Bergamot is the most delicate of the #citrus plants, requiring special climate and soil in order
to thrive. #Italians have used #Bergamot for years for its #calming#aroma and to #soothe and makes #skin feel fresher and smoother. In Greece, the unripe fruits are used as sweetmeats, eaten by the spoonful as a dessert or with coffee. Bergamot is unique among citrus oils due to its ability to be both #uplifting and calming to the #emotions , making it ideal for diffusion. It is also clarifying and #cleansing for the skin while having a #calming effect.
Bergamot blends well with cassia, smart and sassy, kumquat, grapefruit, Copaiba, beautiful blend and pink pepper.
Try these uses:
• Diffuse in the #classroom , at work, or at home to promote a calm relaxed environment
• Apply to the skin while showering and inhale deeply to experience its calming aroma while enjoying its cleansing and clarifying skin benefits.
• Change regular tea to Earl Grey with the addition of Bergamot.

Box Breathing is such a simple yet effective technique in supporting children to feel calm. 🟦
Start sitting up with a long spine and relax your face. Focus on your natural breathing, noticing if it is short and shallow or long and deep. 🟦
Breathe in for a count of three, as you trace up the first side of the box.
Hold your breath for three counts as you trace the second side of the box. 🟦
Breathe out for three counts as you trace the third side of the box. 🟦
Hold your breath for three counts as you trace the final side of the box. 🟦
Continue for 4 or 5 rounds if children are engaged and if they are comfortable, you can invite them to close their eyes and feel this breath.
(It’s very important to encourage no force or straining through the practice particularly for holding the breath. Shorter counts can also be used for holding the breath if needed. Always give permission to stop if they need to). 🟦
Return to natural breathing and ask them to notice how they feel. Encourage sharing in the group to discuss what they felt and if they had any challenges. 🟦

I’ve become more interested in clean beauty over the last 2-3 years, & especially after learning about harmful chemicals that are found in so many personal care products.
I try to do organic when I can, & recently I had been on the hunt for the perfect essential oil rollerball. Thank you so much @elmhurstandelizabeth for gifting me not 1, but 2 of my favorite scents: lavender💜& eucalyptus🌿 I just love them!
I post a lot of blends for kids who have trouble sleeping, or even for adults who have trouble sleeping, but what about if you don’t really have trouble sleeping? Can you still benefit from relaxing essential oils at night?
For sure! 😃 I personally rarely have any trouble sleeping, but it still feels good to diffuse some relaxing essential oils in the evening and in my bedroom at night. 😴
My personal favorite blend for sleep is 2 drops each in the diffuser of wild orange, petitgrain, cedarwood, and vetiver. I also make a roller with these-5 drops of each-and apply to chest and elbow creases at bedtime. 😊
These oils are so calming and relaxing, and they bring balance and homeostasis to the nervous system. This means I will have a deeper, more restoring sleep, giving my body the opportunity to stay healthier overall. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
