This is where it all starts. Ask yourself where do you want to go, further in your career, becoming a specialist in the field in which you have been working or diversifying your knowledge?
Considere what subjects you like, what motivates you and don't forget to think about job opportunities, and the jobs of the future(some of the study programs tend to dissappear). Remember, choosing what to study is a decision for life!🚀

In the “end of a decade” Spirit I’ll chime in and participate in the “end of a decade reflection” posts going on.
Exactly 10 years ago I was fresh in LA and this would be my first holiday season in LA.
Around this time I was working a job that made me miserable but it was my first job landing in LA. After just a few months at that job I was plotting my exit. I had also just start a Vegan diet.
Whew! Whew! Whew!
I remember it all like it was just yesterday.
10 years came and went, just like that.
My 20s were such a rollercoaster.
. . . . . .
Had you told me 10 years ago that I’d be living in New Orleans, married to the man of my dreams (literally), running a success Spiritual business, opened my own Botanica, bought my first home, building a house and Temple in Ayiti, with more initiations and prestigious spiritual titles than an Emo 90s kid’s backpack has pins... I would have told you THAT 👏🏾 IS 👏🏾 CRAY 👏🏾 ZEE 👏🏾
In LA I gave 5 years of my life to a career in retail where I was moving up the corporate latter faster than anyone else around me. Ambition and determination are things I’ve never lacked.
5 years into my retail career, a great paycheck, my highest position yet and I was M I S E R A B L E. My health was poor, I was burnt out, I didn’t care for my work, I lost all motivation and was completely disconnected. Those were some of the darkest times. So I quit. Cold turkey. I had no plans, no idea what I was going to do. I said to myself, “I’ll just take time off, read, indulge in a few hobbies and let the next phase of my life show up when it’s time.”
The rest, is Haus of Hoodoo history!
As humans, change is our only constant and death is definite. Things change, places change and people change too. Things never work out the way we plan them. But if you allow life to move you, you’ll be surprised by how much better than your plans things turn out to be.
“Whatever I go through, I get through. So even when I’m not good, I’m good.”

During the holiday season, many professionals in search of new employment take a break from their job search. This is common because of how hectic this time of the year can be!
Since many professionals take a break from their job search and companies are in search of new employees to fill vacant positions…the competition is low!
Here are some tips to help ensure that you have a successful (but stress-free) job search during the holiday season:
1. Search for new jobs on Job Boards and on Company Websites.
2. Connect with other professionals via holiday cards + emails.
3. Network during holiday events.
4. Volunteer (another great way to network and build relationships!)
5. Look into temporary positions — which can lead to permanent opportunities!
If you’re looking to take your holiday job search to the next level, consider having Career Services by Elle create a Professional Resume and Cover Letter that will help you land your next job. My company creates high-quality, professional documents that effectively tell your career story while highlighting your skills, experience, and achievements. Additionally, the LinkedIn Profile Optimization service that my company provides will enhance your professional brand and help you get discovered by employers.

Preparations are well underway for the launch of a hospitality training programme. 'Learn to Earn' involves restaurant groups, the BTA and the Department of Workforce Development. Information sessions on the programme will be held on Monday at 10am and 3pm at 23 Parliament Street.
I asked Rasheeda Burgess of @btainsights what qualities they are looking for in participants.
My sister and I started our year in Trinidad 🇹🇹 overlooking the entire city, envisioning all the possibilities 2019 had to offer.
Now, as we close out the year, we look back at all the decisions we made in life, love and our career in 2019 in order to reflect on what we have enjoyed, what we didn’t enjoy and what we could improve in 2020.
The possibilities are endless.
Your past is not your present and certainly not your future.
This all started because I needed a new turbo for my old 240sx and I couldn’t afford to buy another one. I was able to convince @bradturbo to let me work in the shop to pay it off. Who would have ever known that I would be here 15 years later. I guess that’s one expensive turbo 🤣🤣🤣 I wanted to THANK @bradturbo for trusting me and giving me the opportunity. @juncali@mark_slide_squad and Carlos Fernandez for taking me under their wings and teaching me about this business. Lastly @timkrupa for coaching me up all these years. #work#career#dreambigger
What are your strengths and weaknesses? Question in interview .
Before going to answer support @kpschome by following us.
If you've ever been asked the question "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" in a job interview, you probably immediately noticed your heart racing. How do I say what I'm not good at without looking terrible and say what I am good at without bragging? Yep, this is a toughie. But there's a secret formula that can help you succeed: Emphasize a positive quality or skill that's needed for the job, and minimize—but be truthful about—the negatives.
Let's say two candidates—we'll call them Francine and William—have job interviews for a customer service manager position. As always, one of the interview questions they'll be asked is about their strengths and weaknesses.
First up is Francine. When she's asked, "What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?" Francine responds, "My strength is that I'm a hard worker. My weakness is that I get stressed when I miss a deadline because someone else dropped the ball." This answer is unimaginative, a no-brainer. Most people think of themselves as hard workers—who would actually admit to not being a hard worker? Also, Francine's weakness is technically not a weakness, plus she passes the buck: Someone—not her—drops the ball, which causes her to get stressed.
Now it's William's turn. He also has difficulty with the question. "I really can't think of a weakness," he begins. "Maybe I could be more focused. My strength is probably my ability to deal with people. I am pretty easygoing. I usually don't get upset easily." This answer leads with a negative, and then moves to vague words: maybe, probably, pretty and usually. William isn't doing himself any favors.
So what is the best way to answer this common interview question?
Besok weekend nih

If you’re struggling to solve a problem in your #job or #career , the key to avoiding frustration is to “luxuriate in the power of NOT YET” rather than being “gripped in the tyranny of #NOW ,” according to motivation researcher Carol Dweck.
Dweck also talks about how we can raise kids who don’t need instant #validation on every effort.
It’s not hard to extrapolate these child-raising techniques to managing teams. Focusing on rewarding process versus results teaches #resilience , #patience and #curiosity .
This may seem somewhat counterintuitive, but consider the little engine that could. Were it not for the struggle — and the curiosity about getting to the top — that train would never have made it.
In my work with #candidates at KIP Search, I regularly talk to folks engaged in the healthy struggle to excel. I’ve seen firsthand how having a NOT YET mentality can inspire people to work harder and accomplish more.
I am truly lucky 👼 to be able to do in my life what l love. I remember time when l was not sure what direction l should go❓ I chose marketing in collage because it seemed to be so universal that you can do almost anything after it.
Now after so many years in a real estate ( 14 years ) l can tell that this is not only my career but also passion. Being a part of such a sensitive event in peoples life like buying their first house or selling it ... is my previliage👌. I believe that this a new beginning for many of us to new and better life. Because home is a foundation for everything else. I wish all of us to have happy homes for this Sainta day🤗🎄🎁

After @daveramsey declared bankruptcy and started making money again, he said that one day he wanted to be able to give $1,000,000 away in a day. Today was that day!
Not only did he gift every single team member with a $1,000 shopping spree at @mallatgreenhills, but he also blessed a couple from Kentucky that paid off over $233,000 in 25 months using our principles, several house parents and social workers from TN Baptist Children’s Home, one of our favorite local pastors, and our entire Ramsey Cafeteria staff with a $1,000 shopping spree, too!
We also celebrated hitting our goal of serving 3,000,000 lives in 2019. What a day!
What an incredible place to be, doing work that matters. Work hard, play hard. Thank you, Dave! 🥳
