My car insurance monthly payment is something that had been bothering me for a while.
I’d been paying $100 a month for insurance for my 2006 Toyota and honestly, it just felt like too much money. And better yet - I didn’t even know what I was paying for. I mean, car insurance, sure. But what does that even mean?! Well yesterday I finally brought myself to call my car insurance company. The whole process took about 20 minutes. I asked the representative to explain to me what I was paying for with that $100 every month, and she kindly walked me through everything. Eventually I realized that there was a certain coverage I had that just didn’t seem necessary for me and my situation. So, I decided to get rid of that particular coverage that was costing me $40 monthly.
Obviously you should do your research when it comes to adjusting something as important as insurance. I had been thinking about this for a while, finally made the call, and now I’ll be saving myself almost $500 a year. This change is totally worth it to me. Again, the coverage I was paying for didn’t seem necessary! And it was costing me $40 more a month.
If you have a similar monthly expense that you keep thinking seems a little high, or you feel like you could knock it down a little bit, or you just don’t even really know what you’re paying for, call whatever company charges you on Monday! You never know what kind of savings you can find and honestly, you could be paying for something you don’t even need or use!
The biggest insurance claim I ever had to process was for $175,000. There was a fire on the 2nd floor of our customers home. Thankfully no one was hurt. I was the first person she called. The woman was in such distress it was hard for her to keep it together. She said “Nestor there was a fire on the second floor and my house is destroyed, I am so upset. I don’t know what to do, please help me”
