The Cellular Jail, was a colonial prison in the Andaman & Nicobar Island, India. The prison was used by the British especially to exile political prisobers to the remote archipelago. Many notable independence activists such as Veer Savarkar, Batukeshwar Dutt, Yogendra Shukla among others, were imprisoned here during the struggle for India's independence. Today, the complex serves as a national memorial monument.
It was depressing but at the same time I was stunned by this massive structure. The Cellular Jail in Port Blair, Andaman will never fail to amaze you. This was shot in one of the corridors of the 3 blocks that currently exist.
