Crossing the iconic Chain Bridge in Budapest. Officially named Széchenyi Lánchíd, this was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary which significantly linked the Buda and the Pest (east/west); the two cities that make up Budapest. It’s amazing to think the Germans blew up this bridge in 1945, which left only the two towers in place! 😳
This is the path I traveled between the Buda Castle & Hungarian Parliament building. I especially love the dignified decorative cast iron details of the lions and lamps on this bridge. I feel like America is so plain and too practical in regards to structures. Europeans appreciate beauty to the extent of beautifying all objects, buildings, and structures. In America, we’ve lost some of this symbolism in favor of lower costs, higher profits and ultimately cultural blandness. _________________________________________________
Are you an early riser 🌞 or a late night party animal ? 😝
Even though we love our days of sleeping in, whenever we’re traveling we are definitely early risers! 🌅💫
We we live to watch the break of dawn followed by a beautiful sunrise. This also helps with getting an early start to our day, hence enabling us to explore more places! You see, it’s all a part of the grand plan. 😉
But sometimes like to switch our routine and become the ultimate party rockers! 🕺🏻💃 And on days like these, we try to do some night photography! 😂
PHOTO TIP - This beautiful view of Budapest’s famous Chain Bridge can be seen from the top of Buda Castle only minutes after sunset. So timing is everything. 😉

🇭🇺 Reméljük, ősszel sem kell lemondanunk a lélegzetelállító naplementékről. 😊
💙💚💙 The Liberty Bridge in Budapest is downstream from the Chain bridge and probably not as famous. The bridge connects the big market and the Vaci Utca (most famous walking street) to the other side of the Danube. On the other side you can find the Gellert baths and the bridge presents a great walk over the river.
Too bad i could not be there when the bridge is closed to traffic. People say that it is one of those great serendipitous travel experiences: people on the bridge have picnics and hunging there waiting of the sunset, while a random band is playng some cool music.
But walking across the Liberty Bridge, in the middle of the day, after several hours relaxation in the Gellert spa, is not bad at all either 😅
