P.S. if you go to Singapore's #CloudForestDome at @gardensbythebay on a cloudy day, WEAR A JACKET. It's (one of?) the only air-conditioned greenhouse(s) in the world, which means, if you can't tell by my face, that in comparison to Singapore's constantly-hot outdoors, the dome is freaking COLD when the sun's not out to warm it through the glass. Greenhouse effect and all that.

✎ Singapore is one awesome city, we visited once and just cannot wait to visit again. It can be very expensive but there is also a lot of free or cheap things to enjoy here, including one of the cheapest Michelin Star restaurants in the world. If you are going to splash a little cash on a couple of things in this city we would recommend going to the Zoo, and also this place, the Cloud Forest Dome which is pretty special… Our Wanderguide this week is a list of all the places we would recommend in Singapore (Link is in our Bio or Swipe Up in our Story) #travelade#sponsored

I present to you “Cloud Forest” 💨💦
The Rush Of Nature art installation by UK sculptor Marc Quinn inside the Flower Dome @gardensbythebay in Singapore. This artwork is a 6 foot high, 18 colour bronze cast sculpture of a moth orchid and was created in 2013 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Horticulture Society's Chelsea Flower Show in London UK. It was auctioned off by Sotheby's to raise money for the next generation of horticulturists. It was gifted to the Gardens By The Bay in Singapore by Mr & Mrs Ong Beng Seng. With flowers and plant life featuring prominently in his art, Quinn created the installation to celebrate the garden as an artistic medium.
That one time I actually did go chasing waterfalls and found the greenhouse to end all greenhouses.
The @gardensbythebay in Singapore have been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, but the Cloud Forest Conservatory inside takes the cake for one of the most stunning greenhouses I’ve ever stepped foot in. It’s so named because the conservatory mimics the misty cloud forests on tropical mountaintops, in fact, they’ve literally built a mountain inside and are growing plants that would typically grow at altitude. This means the conservatory is cooled, not heated like your typical greenhouse, and regularly misted (swipe for video) to mimic the cooler temperature growing conditions in nature. And speaking of plants - the most jaw dropping collection. It made my green heart so happy. More soon. Put this one on your planty bucket list folks, it’s a must see.
I was going to share a joke about waterfalls but it’s pretty pour... 💦🤣
I finally got to visit the Cloud Forest on my second visit to Singapore 🌳 ☁️
Travelling around Asia for 7 months meant sticking to a strict budget and the $28 ticket was a bit out of our daily spendings. Coming from Australia our budget was higher so I was finally able to see it for myself! 😍
Travelling on a budget can be challenging but it makes it easier to travel for longer! 🌍 ::::
Do you tend to stick to a budget when travelling? 💰 ::::
TRAVEL TIP - We went to the Cloud Forest for opening at 9am and had it mostly to ourselves ☺️🙌
EDITING TIP - Edited on @lightroom with my Golden Glow Pop Preset, I then added the mist/clouds using the @lensdistortions app
