It’s fri-yay aka time for an 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐳!
Instead of dreaming for the day we can get back into some of our favorite restaurants safely (because who knows when that will be)... let’s bring the Friday happy hour cocktails right into our home! After creating recipes for the past 4 months now, there’s a lot to choose from on our website! My personal favorite to celebrate the beginning of the weekend on a hot day is of course the Aperol Spritz.
But on a serious note, I can't believe that 4 months ago COVID lockdown hit in the US and that actually made me really start taking Join Jules seriously. It was the only way to turn a sour situation into a good one I guess. But, I do hope these cocktails have helped cure the oh so missed happy hours and that you look forward to so many more to come... (I'm looking at you 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧)!! Let's just say this, it's only the beginning of Join Jules 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘩𝘰𝘰! (𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴... okay okay I'll stop).
𝐍𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐨-𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥? 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰!

Rumour has it, today is Pina Colada Day 👀
Moments ago, when we received this alarming information, we were peacefully sipping on a daiquiri courtesy of our Deloitte Virtual Masterclass 😯
Naturally, the following method ensued...
Calmly make a daiquiri, and enjoy sipping on it for a few moments. Scroll Instagram whilst you enjoy your drink, and then suddenly realise it’s Pina Colada Day. PANIC. Run frantically around your kitchen, looking for pina colada related ingredients. Add your pina colada related ingredients to your shaker & shake with your daiquiri. Fine strain. Take a deep breath. Enjoy 👍

You probably thought this was a Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, but ACTUALLY it’s a Lauwiliwilinukunuku’oi’oi. I bet you feel silly now.
It’s #WorldRumDay tomorrow and I’m prepping for the big day by attending @boutiqueypeter’s and @servedbysoberon’s Rum Tasting session over on @boutiqueyrum tonight at 8pm. The tasting kit contains three very exciting rums and I can’t wait to see these two experts get passionately verbose about their tastebuds.
In the meantime, here’s me getting geeky over tiki with a drink poured from the pages of @smugglerscovesf. While the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a is made with gin, the Lauwiliwilinukunuku’oi’oi swaps the gin for a blended aged rum.
So here’s a Lauwiliwilinukunuku’oi’oi, which, thankfully, I’ve now written enough times for it to be autocompleted by my phone.
2oz Blended Aged Rum
3/4oz Pineapple Juice
3/4oz Lemon Juice
1/2oz Orgeat Syrup
2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
Shake all ingredients with crushed ice and open pour into your glass. Garnish with a cherry and an edible orchid (swapped out here for a grilled pineapple slice)
An Empress Gin martini with a FAT lemon zest shot.
1 1/2 oz @empress1908gin
1/2 oz Acqua di Cedro
1/2 oz dry vermouth
1/2 oz Cocchi Americano
garnish: lemon peel
My last #hitmewithyourzest shot was a moody one, so I wanted to try a lighter and brighter shot. Hope ya dig and stay saucy 🤙🏻
