I totally understand that most of us were taught to look for jobs & not opportunities. I get that.. I was taught that too. But I worked for years to change my mindset and now I look for opportunities. Yes, I have a great career (my dream career) but I don't pass up on opportunities that will provide multiple streams of income for my family and I. When I tell you that I am extremely grateful for my open & growth mindset during this pandemic... I am Extremely grateful.
God's plan was to have me hit rock bottom in life so that I would be able to get to this point right here... Sharing my journey in my career and businesses to help others reach their goals & dreams. .
The first step is believing in yourself. Believe that you can do amazing things, believe that you can have financial security, freedom & peace.
Once you believe in yourself and stop caring about what others think of you, you will SUCCEED!!
I have 2 spots open to partner with me in my business today. Ask yourself this.. where will you be financially in a few months? 2 years.. 5 years.. if you keep doing the same thing you have been doing?? Invest in yourself and let me help you change your financial future ♡ Message me if you are interested in learning more about how I get paid no less than 9 times a month. 💕

👉 College Backer added $15 to MY child's savings account!
It’s 𝟓𝟐𝟗 𝐃𝐀𝐘!!!!
Couldn’t let the day go by without celebrating the opportunity to increase awareness of the College 529 Plan!
A 529 plan is an investment account that you can use for education savings! While most people think of it only for college, you can actually use it to save and invest for K-12 tuition, in addition to college.
Other benefits include state tax advantages, being able to pass it to other beneficiaries like other children, nieces/nephews, all the way up to grandchildren, etc. so it is truly a wealth building strategy for the family!
We opened up a 529 plan for our son this past Christmas when he was only 7 months old. But did you know that you can actually open up an account before you even have a child and pass it on to them once they are born and have a social security number???!! (learned this from @betterwallet today! ✊🏾 Check out his last few posts on 529 plans)
We’re big on doing all that we can to set our children up for success. One my my mottos is this: Our children should not be starting from where we STARTED but from where we LEFT OFF! Generational wealth to me is ensuring that your kids and beyond don’t have to start from scratch! This is just one vehicle to achieve that.
If you have children, plan to have children, do some research and see if this is a good plan for you. You can contribute as little as $25/month in some states! And something is always better than nothing!

Today is 5/29 – A.K.A. "529 Day." To celebrate, I'm sharing personal stories about how I was inspired to co-author the 529 College Savings Plan, how the plan has helped families across the nation for more than 20 years, and how I see the plan evolving in the future.
I want to see the 529 plan evolve to open up access for more people. We could allow community based organizations and/or non-profits to set up accounts for children who are adopted.
It’s 529 Day! 🎉🎊🎈🎁
In celebration, Tonya Rapley, the Founder of @myfabfinance, and I will be discussing planning for your children’s financial future and beyond.
Speaking of futures— the last time I think we saw each other she was pregnant with her son, who is now a toddler on the go. Needless to say— we need an updated picture! 🤦🏾♀️
What’s 529 day? 529 Day is a day to celebrate college savings, specifically the 529 plan, and raise awareness about the importance of saving for higher education.

What’s one dream you have for your child’s future?
One dream that I have for ALL of my children is for them to value education and never have student loans or college debt. .
That’s why today, May 29, I’m joining the college savings industry in celebrating 529 Day. 529 Day is a day to spread the word about the importance of saving the tax-advantaged way for your child’s higher education. For almost 30 years, Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, has helped families across the nation save for whatever school comes after high school. .
Ohio’s 529 Plan is the tax-free way to help pay for college nationwide. Yes that’s right, 529 plans can be used across the United States at any accredited post-secondary school that accepts federal financial aid, which includes two-year, four-year, and graduate programs, as well as vocational or trade schools. .
If you’re not sure how much to save for future higher education expenses or just want to crunch some numbers, CollegeAdvantage has the tools and calculators for you. The college savings planner can help set your savings goals. .
It’s never too early to start saving for your child’s higher education. Click the link in my bio to find out all of the tax benefits of saving in Ohio’s 529 Plan and more! #Sponsored

Here are some sobering statistics on college costs and how they've risen, according to the National Center for Education Statistics (source: nces.ed.gov/fastfacts): For the 2016–17 academic year, annual prices for undergraduate tuition, fees, room, and board were estimated to be $17,237 at public institutions, and $44,551 at private nonprofit institutions.
Between 2006–07 and 2016–17, prices for undergraduate tuition, fees, room, and board at public institutions rose 31 percent, and prices at private nonprofit institutions rose 24 percent, after adjustment for inflation.
Yes, 529 day is a real thing. Today, let's celebrate all of the families who have gone through the college planning process. If you're looking to get started or learn more, let me know. I have plenty of helpful resources to share with you!
Kids. College. $$$⠀
But did you know you can save up for your kid's education costs today?⠀
And did you know that you can also use a 529 plan to save for yourself, no matter your age? Perhaps you're thinking of going back to grad school, #lifelonglearners can benefit from this.⠀
What is a 529 Plan?⠀
It legally known as “qualified tuition plan.” It is a tax-advantaged savings plan designed to encourage saving for future education costs. The money that gets put in is post-tax, but it grows tax free and withdrawals are tax-free as long as the money is used for qualified education expenses like tuition, room and board, etc. including private education costs before college.⠀
I opened a 529 account 3 months after my husband and I tied the knot. Call it intentional planning. Call it planned savings. I chose a plan with the lowest fees, set up automatic contributions and set the investments to be as aggressive as possible. I set myself as the beneficiary, because, well, no child yet. My thought process when I started funding the 529 was that if we didn’t have children in the end, I would just use it for myself or gift it to another family member. I also didn’t plan on maximizing the entire plan, just put enough to get started and pay a few semesters because #collehacking .⠀
Today, that account now belongs to my almost 1 year old daughter. We've asked family and friends that in lieu of gifts, that a contribution to a 529 account will be more appreciated. We're opting for #presenceovepresents . Fidelity allows you to create a Gift Page and a Private Account Dashboard to make it easier for family and friends to submit their gift and I like that it tracks so that you can say “Thank You” in the future.⠀
So just something to keep in mind in case you need another savings vehicle, but remember retirement savings first before the kid's college savings.⠀

Every child deserves the advantages of Higher Education. 529 plans make this this possible. Happy National 529 Day to all of our PVD Promise Families!

👉🏻Save and Share this post for future reference. 🧡👈🏻I noticed there are many common misconceptions about 529 college savings plans. Here are my responses to 4 of them: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ If my child doesn't go to college, I lose all the money
You won’t lose your money! You can use the funds for your education, grandkids or for another family member
2️⃣ Once my child is 18. he/she can of with the money.
This cannot happen. You're the owner of the account. Your children are only assigned as beneficiaries.
3️⃣ I can only invest in my home state's plan.
No. You can choose to invest in any states you want.
4️⃣ 529 plans are only for young children
There are no age requirements. Of course it’s best to start early but it’s not a requirement.
I get a lot of questions if I work and the answer is yes. I am a blogger with my daughters future in mind. AD When @invest529 wanted to partner I thought it was a no brainer. Since I have already been saving for Marli’s higher eduction (and education expenses) fund. @invest529 puts your money in a safe place and gives ease of mind and a place for family and friends to be able to contribute for holidays and birthdays. Invest529 is a flexible and affordable tax-advantaged program. . . .
Invest529 is administered by Virginia529, the largest 529 in the country, but is available to families nationwide. I also learned that Virginia529 in association with Invest529 is hosting a sweepstake for $1000 contribution to a new or existing Invest529 account. The Sweepstakes began a November 12, 2019and ends December 18, 2019. (Sweepstakes Term). What financial sacrifices will you make to invest in your children? Will it be investing $50 a month into their 529 college savings account! Moving to a better school district? Or will it be private tutoring? Let’s share what financial decisions you will make to help your children advance?
College here we come! Ok, mayyyybe we have a few more years 😅 But it's never too early to start saving for your kiddo's education! |ad| I've partnered with @personal.capital to share how we've been utilizing their free budgeting tools, specifically the Education Planner. The app lets you see all of your budget goals in one spot and gives you notifications to help keep you on track each month. I'm a total nerd about budgets & spreadsheets, so this free tool has been so fun for me to play around on. 🤓📊👉 I'm chatting a little more bout how to use the free app in my stories! ps...did you know Mike and I are college sweethearts? The University of Idaho will always have a special place in our hearts. Of course, Avery can choose whichever school she wants... but go Vandals! 😉 #JoyfullyGrowingAVERY#mypersonalcapital

Knowing how expensive education is, I started thinking about Isabelle’s higher education expenses early. AD @Invest529 makes saving for college easy. You can open an account with just $25 and add little by little at your own pace. My favorite part is that there are no online application fees, annual maintenance fees, or withdrawal fees for qualified higher education expenses, AND administrative fees are among the lowest in the nation. You don’t even have to worry if your student doesn’t pursue higher education or happen to receive a scholarship because the money you save with @Invest529 is always yours. I love smart financial planning!
SWEEPSTAKES: Invest529 is administered by Virginia529, the largest 529 plan in the country, but Invest529 is available to families nationwide! Virginia529 is sponsoring sweepstakes of a $529 contribution to a new or existing @Invest529 account. The Sweepstakes begins September 2, 2019 and ends on October 14, 2019 (Sweepstakes Term). During the Sweepstakes Term there is one way to enter: Online by visiting Invest529.com/offer during the Sweepstakes Term, completing the online entry form and submitting it to receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. #529plans#savingsgoals#collegesavings#savingmoney

Last Sunday, this contingent skied the Head to Head, an 18 mile/8k vertical traverse from Arrowhead to Lionshead Vail, created by the incomparable Dawes Wilson. Just waiting outside while my son goes to work 😎 (I don’t actually smoke...I’m an actor)
Yup I’m just proud of that nugget. He’s 3 and already saving for college. 😜 #financialindependence
We do lots of things to try and help our kids have a great life. One of the things I am so thankful my own parents passed down to us kiddos is financial responsibility. It’s hard to escape it when your dad is a CPA. 🤦🏻♀️ When I moved to LA I had to build a spreadsheet to show my dad my budget and survival strategy. And 14 years later I’m still here. I’ve been broke and I’ve been alright and everything in between but the skills they taught me kept me in the game.
Now that I’m the parent I could care less about my son being famous or having an “acting career” but him having the opportunity to have his college covered before he’s 7...now that’s an awesome opportunity I hope I can try and navigate for him at this point in his life. And when he stops loving the camera, we’ll move on. Until then shine on little one. You’ve got a special light inside of you.✨
