Caleb and I have been working on patterns lately. Scrolling through etsy looking for fun pattern play and I found these incredibly pretty blocks and cards & I thought they would be perfect! Then I saw the price! 😱 For 6 block and the cards it was well over $60. I thought SURELY I could make them in a hour AND keep it under $10.
Well here are my results! ♡ May I just say they are the Prettiest things ever and they cost me about $12 for an 8 block set to make!
Anyway, I made these before Chirstmas and let him explore them and play with them as block play, but I introduced the cards and pattern matching with them together today. They are a little hard and he gets frustrated with it and asks for help but he has played with them for 2 hours stright! They are a hit!
Isaiah also really loves them too. I'm going to make a simpler version with the same blocks with solid colors vs the horizontal and vertical lines.
🌲 ❄️ I took a walk in the woods and discovered what peace and happiness looks like.I can only imagine how a perfect earth would look like! 🌍
⛰On our trip to Colorado, we found a hidden trail in Fraser and decided to take a short walk. There was no one around and the only thing we could see was the glowing, white snow and the sun rays poking through the trees. It felt so so great to disconnect from the noise of the city. Our background noise was our kids laughing and even arguing about who can run faster in the snow. It’s always a great idea to escape to nature & create beautiful memories! 💕💕

The tower on the left is a classic RMNP climb called the petit grepon. We climbed this in early season (June), so we approached on snow and hiked out in thick fog, but we climbed in warm sunshine and had the classic tower to ourselves!
Denver is a great place to headquarter on an adventure trip since you can go north, south, or west depending on the weather forecast 👌🥳

Situated on a 41-acre stretch between old town Buena Vista and the Arkansas River, our community of South Main began as the dream of whitewater kayaker and entrepreneur Jed Selby. This walkable, new urban, development has since welcomed dozens of small businesses, athletes and young families. The Surf Hotel is the most recent investment in South Main, promising to attract further outdoor enthusiasts and mindful entrepreneurs to this vibrant neighborhood ≜

This year I’m challenging myself to create a photo series of Colorado’s iconic rock formations. I really thrive creatively with big landscapes but want a new project to focus my energy on. With that said - does it get any more iconic than the flatirons? I took this photo over a year ago and I’ve taken plenty from this exact spot since, but this one will always be my absolute favorite.
Prints of my photos can be purchased at ChelseaOttaviano.com - link in bio.

Courage doesn't always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

My fiancé and I got some shots of the Wolf Moon tonight from our garage! I have to say this is the best moon photo I have ever taken! I was finally able to use my fiancé's Sigma 150-600mm Sport Lens tonight! I am so happy with what my little Sony a6300 can do! 🤩
Please feel free to like, share, or comment on any of my photos. Thank you for liking Candy's Captures and joining me on all my travels and adventures!
"Understand that it is okay to be scared or uncertain, however right beyond those barriers ultimately lies your dreams." -Josh Hinds | A winter family adventure took us for a hike into 📍Chautauqua park, Boulder, Colorado -- as we walked along the trail the flatirons looked to be completely socked in but somehow we found a magical spot where the snow clouds part to show off these beautiful peaks. Have a great weekend out there, following my stories to watch our adventure to Utah and beyond! Captured on @sonyalpha x Sony 70-200mm settings: 104mm 1/320 sec.
