“The Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc, in the Czech Republic is a Baroque monument (Trinity column) that was built between 1716 to 1754. The main purpose was to celebrate the Catholic Church and faith, partly caused by feeling of gratitude for ending a plague, which struck Moravia (now in the Czech Republic) between 1713 and 1715. The column was also understood to be an expression of local patriotism, since all artists and master craftsmen working on this monument were Olomouc citizens, and almost all depicted saints were connected with the city of Olomouc in some way.” #holytrinitycolumn#columns#religiousart#olomouc#monuments

📍 Poznan, Poland ➖
The artist Alicja Biala and architect Iwo Borkowicz have inaugurated TOTEMY in Poznan (Poland), a series of giant sculptures expressing the current state of the environmental crisis.
Located in the heart of Poznan and each standing 9 meters, they all visualize something about the relationship between humanity and nature. Their shapes, colors, and textures correspond with different statistics, in such a way that they offer an immersive architectural experience through vibrant direct confrontation on a daily basis. With as much precision as possible they try to reflect data provided by environmental studies. Local carpenters, politicians, students, activists, and other community members helped in the project, raising the columns artisanally.
The sculptures are under MVRDV’s Baltyk building, in a public space instead of in museums or galleries. In this way, they have a larger audience.
The pieces each have a QR code explaining their seemingly merely abstract forms. One of them, for example, gives information about deforestation through its two large volumes, one of these representing the size of the world’s annual loss of forests and the other depicting the size of Poland.

A classic puzzle game inspired by Tetris. Nothing more and nothing less.
Like most games in this category it has addictive gameplay and is very entertaining.
Personally, I think that a game of this character needs a little more in a 16-bit format. Especially when it comes to graphics and animations. Something like Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine.
But, of course, this game was released within the very early years of the Mega Drive.
I didn’t play it as a kid either, so I guess it’s not that classic to me.
