Great to go along to the Team Scotland awards the other week. Even better to be back involved with Team Scotland this time on the athlete advisory panel for Birmingham CWG 2022. Hopefully we can bring something useful to the table and in doing so help the athletes achieve their dreams! 💙 #TeamScotland#KiltsGalore#CommonwealthGames

That time of year where the photo reminders pop up. 9 years ago in Delhi. Literally left a bit of my manhood behind there. Thank you Kukri ! Your shorts should be in the cheese grater aisle!
Painful memories. #commonwealthgames#marathon#delhi
AMAZING TO SEE Mojo Master community member, client and Thrive Time event attendee Steph Davies taking weight lifting gold in SAN Diego.
The Mojo Master - “Unlock your potential”
Steph came to Thrive Time 3 years ago realising that she wasn’t enjoying her job and her life direction.
With the clarity and tools she gained at Thrive Time, she got super clear on her life and what she demanded of herself and her life.
Within 17 months she was competing at the Commonwealth games (never having competed in any weightlifting prior to Thrive Time)
With the mindset tools we teach at Thrive Time she gained mental clarity and focus on what she really wanted to do in life and cut away a lot of the emotional and mental harnesses that kept her trapped in 9-5 job, living in fear and not inspired.

We've noticed a few signs popping up around Birmingham promoting the Commonwealth Games 2022👀 This will be an amazing event for the city of Birmingham and will showcase the West Midlands on a global stage!🌍 #PRAgency#BirminghamBased#PR#CommonwealthGames#2022
Have you ever noticed how some things you do in life you find really easy, while other things just seem so hard. There are simply some things that you were designed for and other that you are not. The trick is to work hard at both and even though you may not excel at your worst thing, the fact is, you can always get better.
Whenever you can though, focus on what you are good at and the gifts God has given you and spend most of your time doing just that. Of course you have to work on your weaknesses at times but never focus so much on your problems and the things you can't do when if you focus on your successes and what you can, you'll often realise that what you thought were big problems are no longer problems at all. ————————————————————
Just remember, whenever you’re chasing the right dream you’ll hardly feel tired at all and trusting a big God is with you will make all your problems seem small.
As @angie_run800m Angie Petty an International 800m runner and Olympian from New Zealand says "To be successful, make sure you're chasing the right dream not somebody else's but the one God has given you".
The long awaited Commonwealth Recap! 👀 (sorry it took so long I’ve got exams soon... haha 🙈)
Starting with squats...best I hit on the day was a 140kg squat ⚪️🔴⚪️ (2nd attempt, first vid) 👀 Really pleased with how snappy this moved!!
Scroll across to my 145kg squat (3rd attempt, second vid >>>) 🔴🔴⚪️ .
The depth was so close on this...looking back perhaps I should have pushed to have this challenged...but we live and we learn! Next time it shall be unquestionable 🙌🏽 .
This felt so easy tho...excited what I can next bring when I nail the execution 🔥 .
All in all...Gold Medalist in the Squat so Happy Days 😍
Can we take a moment and look at this women @sarahd_gb ... holy shit her ass, leg, back but especially her smile.
Setting the bar for everyone women on the planet. It’s been a Rocky year for you lady but you grin from ear to ear and carry on doing what you do, you succeed in life everyday even if you don’t feel like you.

I just sent this bike on a little journey without me. Sad to not have it for the next few months - but it's a worthy cause.
Not sure I'm allowed to mention where it has gone... so y'all have to wait a bit before I post some photos of what it's up to - without me.
One of my very few "forever bikes" by @saffronframeworks, built for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia with @columbus_official XCr (Stainless Steel). Looks like Titanium - but is much cooler. In my very biased opinion... which makes me realise how little I actually know about the subject 🙈
Our 'Fight for the Fatherless' family prayer this Sunday is inspired by @tyler__vlasak Tyler Vlasak an International Weightlifter who represents the USA. ————————————————————
This picture of Tyler reminds us at ‘Fight for the Fatherless’ that being successful at times is never going to be easy and that it’s going to take determination and fight to be able to accomplish anything worthwhile, that you set out to achieve. ————————————————————
So our prayer for you all, is that God helps you to be prepared to face some difficult challenges In your lives as you journey through and that you realise that that is simply what you have to do, in order to become the person that God wants you to be. Our prayer is that when things get really hard and you feel like giving in, that instead you’ll learn to go at life even harder and never ever quit. ————————————————————
We pray that you learn to understand that whatever you’re going through you’ll never go through it alone, that God will always be with you and that he’ll never allow you to go through more than you can handle or anything that he has not given you the strength and ability to overcome. ————————————————————
Finally our prayer is that you’ll start to see, that every time you give any challenge in life your very best, that it won’t be long before you see success and receive your just rewards.
Congrats to my cousin Brian MacPherson, CEO of Commonwealth Games Canada and former CEO of Paralympic Canada Committee, for being elected into the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame. ☺

Where is Birmingham? As @philssleevenotes and I sat and had lunch today with Americans, Canadians and Finnish, it was clear that they had no idea where Birmingham is. Nope. We explain its geographical location in comparison to London and mention Aston Villa. That we are South of Manchester (Manchester United) and that is the second city. And then hit with them with the Michelin Stars as a chef @chefkavanagh is one of our fellow diners, the more miles of canal thing, two towers, Staffordshire Hoard and the pre raffelite collection at BMAG. Oh and then that we are hosting the commonwealth games. And then they say that they really ought to visit. Birmingham has got to step up and sell our city better. It has. #birmingham#commonwealthgames#2022
Today we celebrate the seventh day of Navratri, the day devoted to Kalaratri Mata. Today there is Grey in the air. Today, We salute our favorite female wrestler, GeetaPhogat. GeetaPhogat brought India glory in the international pro-wrestling scene by winning gold for the country. The fact that she became so successful in sport that was heavily male dominated at her time is amazing.
1962 Perth hosted the British Empire Commonwealth games. In 1959, the city council set aside 65 acres of land in City Beach for the athletes' village. Now a densely populated suburb, in the early 1960s the area was still largely bushland. The organisers wanted three designs for the houses and they were based on cost. Forty local architects put in 166 designs for these houses. When the games ended, the houses were renovated and around 20,000 people came to have a look.
They were then put up for sale and within six months all of them had sold. Today only some remain, many have been knocked over and newer and bigger houses put up. For many, the Empire games in 1962 still hold happy memories! Our existing home on the block is one of those Empire games houses! #britishempire#commonwealthgames#history#citybeach#perth#westernaustralia@ricaus@humphreyhomes#makingmemories#newbeginnings

A little over a year ago, a little human became a huge figure in her second sport, Olympic Weightlifting. It’s one thing to hit a PR in the comfort of your home gym. Tia-Clair had to hit not only a platform PR, but set a new National Record in the 58kg category for the clean and jerk in order to achieve her dream of winning Gold. The stage was set, and the rest is history. @tiaclair1 Commonwealth Games Champion 👸🏻
