@embertonestate phase 2B construction is coming along nicely. There are 38 units in total in this phase, made up of 1,2&3 bedroom units. The challenge is to produce a unit that meets the current market affordability....if a certain type of unit sold well in a previous phase, it does not necessarily mean it will work in future phases. This is all part of adapting and changing our approach through the life cycle of a project.
My name is Robert Wyatt, and I'm an assistant superintendent with Banyan.
I grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, after being adopted from Guatemala in 1994.
I started in the construction industry in Vancouver in 2014.
My favourite thing about the construction industry is the sense of camaraderie that is formed within a team all working toward a collective goal, through the wet, the cold, the heat, and the long days. Nothing rivals the sense of achievement that I feel when reaching goals with a dedicated team.
My favourite thing about Banyan is knowing that from ownership to our newest employees, we are always striving to achieve more and to raise the bar for construction in BC.
#Truss#Trusses#FlatRoof What do we have here? In my professional opinion, the subcontractor likely brought on a residential crew that wasn’t familiar with how to set and temporarily brace these large trusses... and tried to eyeball it versus using a level. The trusses are leaning, snaking, completely out of plumb. (The crew was notified of the issue prior to the roof going on but claimed they would fix them up as the roof decking went on) Upon official notice that these were unacceptable and legitimately a safety concern, the repair was a sledge hammer. (Big surprise: that didn’t work... and now they are leaning and damaged) Currently waiting on the official “fix” from the engineer. Subcontractors get in over their heads. They don’t monitor their crews. And more often than not, they have no clue what they are doing. Do you need someone to babysit the crews on your project? #Subcontractor#Babysitting now available! #ConstructionManagement#ProjectManagement#Construction#Superintendent#ProtectYourInvestments#Missouri (And, yes, this work was completed by a nationwide lumber and framing company... a large corporation is no guarantee of good work!) #OwnersRep#GeneralContracting#CommercialConstruction#Scam
