I've always liked working with plaster. And the more time I spend working with these materials, the more I learn and discover about their permutations and unique interactions.
Earlier this year, I thought of this custom built crown molding; an object I toiled over for hours, as a failure. Now.
Reappropriated and manipulated once again. Industrial paint, crayons, burning and polyurethane gave me a new perspective.

The Making of Teddy - A commission I couldn’t refuse. Teddy is a Chihuahua with a story - a story that did not begin joyfully. Teddy spent the first 7 years of his life in a puppy mill - spending his days in a small, wire mesh cage. Before his rescue, Teddy had never set foot on grass or known a loving touch. Teddy and his best friend Harley, another puppy mill survivor, went on to spread awareness about puppy mills and inspire others to adopt. They helped to rescue more than 700 dogs from puppy mills and continue to raise funds and awareness through ‘Harley’s Dream’. Though Harley and Teddy have now passed on, their legacies live on. They are known worldwide and continue to be the voice for thousands of dogs living in puppy mills today. To learn more about Teddy and Harley and their mission, please visit www.harleysdream.org and consider contributing to this incredible organization. To Teddy’s mom, Michele, thank you for sharing Teddy with the world and for all of the wonderful work you do to help these sweet creatures experience a life of love. You have incredible friends. To Rudi and Mary, thank you for asking me to create this piece. It was an honour and pleasure to do so. Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this happen. xox 💜 @teddybearburchfield@harleypuppymilldog — special thanks to my husband to be @marc_fortunato for filming and putting together this video. You’re the best! 😍💋

This one took a long time to make all those glass garnets and grind them to the right surfacing. I am very pleased with the final execution. I picture arranging multiple panels together. 12x18 inches. @jeremysinkus
