Episod 6: Egon Schiele Part:
About Schiele, we are not going to talk about his pet stories but pure art, just because mommy loves his work so much.😝😝
Egon Schiele (1890 – 1918) was an Austrian artist and a protégé of Gustav Klimt as well as a close friend. Despite his short life, Schiele was a major influential painter of the early 20th century. His work is noted for its intensity and bold portrayals of sexuality, and the many self-portraits the artist produced, including nude self-portraits. For example, the one I'm photoing with is one of his most recognizable works: SELF-PORTRAIT WITH CHINESE LANTERN PLANT, created in 1912. In this work, his head is turned to one side, while the gaze is pointed toward audiences and shoulders are uneven, showing his confidence and fragility at the same time. He used the sharp lines to make the whole figure jumping out from the background. Delicately virtuoso use of colours, with the plant behind which is fragile, fading but still colourful, keeps a perfect balance for the whole work. I also feel something exotic and isolated in this work. The artist is alienated to all of us. However, with the application of bright colours, even just a little, he tried to be alive, and be close to the audience. This, I believe, is the most attractive thing to me, this conflicting feeling. A Dying inner world still with hope.😊😊.
Happy #tongueouttuesday !! My humans are making our updating our backyard and I like to supervise their activities. I gotta make sure they don’t try to mess with my favorite spots, like the one I’m laying in - Zeke 🐾
