I discovered @lanticgin last year at Lostwithiel Gin Festival and was sold at the first neat taste.
I tried it with @navasdrinks tonic and the result is a smooth easy drinking Gin, with the flavours of the six hand picked botanicals added to the base nine coming through to create a stunning flavour
Skylark Distillery is an independent small craft distillery in South Cornwall founded by Alex Palmer-Samborne. They are fortunate to operate from a traditional Cornish barn surrounded by the botanicals which help to make Lantic Gin unique. The journey began with a traditional two litre copper still, an open mind and a self taught process. They researched different distilling techniques, experimented with locally foraged botanicals, and fined tuned the Lantic Gin recipe over many months. They then summoned their gin-loving friends for ‘constructive’ tasting sessions until they felt comfortable that they had finally found a recipe which moved away from a heavy juniper flavoured gin to a more easy drinking gin. Consequently they scaled up production from 1 bottle to just 170 bottles per batch.
Lantic Gin derived its name from the picturesque Lantic Bay which is steeped in spirit smuggling history and where a number of the gin’s botanicals are foraged.
They moved away from the esoteric classic ingredients with their selection of carefully hand picked floral botanicals which are indigenous to the Cornish coastline. These intriguing botanicals are responsibly foraged from within walking distance of the distillery and then carefully prepared and measured. Their fragile components create a challenge to distill which requires meticulous attention and technique. The six fresh hand picked botanicals of Rock Samphire, Gorse Flowers, Water Mint, Heather, Lemon Thyme and Apple Mint are carefully blended to provide the character of Lantic gin - a unique flavour and aroma.

Newquay is known as the UK’s surf capital – and for good reason. 🏄🏻♀️
The town is surrounded by golden beaches, with beautiful waves and epic sunsets. ☀️
Feel the laid-back vibe as soon as you arrive in this chilled out surf town. 😎
Look out for road signs covered in surf stickers, cute cafes and surfers heading to the waves.☕
Most of the beaches work on different tides, wind and swell directions, so you’ll always find a wave somewhere if you know where to look.🌊
This is where we’re from, so we use our local knowledge to find the best conditions for the day and those more secret spots.🤫

Passions are inherent to our soul, but without the knowledge of what they are, we may risk missing the fullness of who we are. It is when we see others that have found their passion, a dream that can be lived out with energy and determination, that we realize that we have either found our own purpose or have sorely missed the mark. I am seeking to operate in that creative niche that will cause me to experience a deep joy, and satisfaction, that can only be attributed to the fact that I have found that thing that I was created to do. I was not created to merely live for a time and then to pass on, but to live a God ordained existence where I experience the unique quality of a life that exceeds my ordinary expectations and instead is capable of surprise, excitement, enjoyment, and wonder.
Do I have the courage to pursue what is vital to living this kind of life? Do you? Will I take the necessary steps, and possible risks, to see these desires come to fruition? Will you? I believe that I must follow my heart and go where it takes me? What about you? #wonder#joy#expectation#seek#pursue#determination#courage enjoyment #energy#lake#boats#sailing#character#cornishcrabber#cornwall#england#coast

Have you been back in the pub this weekend? 🍾
I haven’t ... but I have been home to see my family and friends for the first time since Christmas and I cannot tell you how much good a few lovely days in Norfolk has done for my soul ❤️ I’ve celebrated one of my oldest friends asking me to be her bridesmaid as well as my lovely mum’s birthday, and it’s all felt like a breath of fresh air after several months that have been distinctly stale!
We celebrated my brilliant mumma with this absolutely gorgeous @fortnums English Sparkling wine, made exclusively for F&M by @camelvalleysam in Cornwall. Not only is the bottle beautiful, but this wine was seriously impressive - Camel Valley (named for Cornwall’s River Camel, not the humpy hairy beast 🐫 ) are lauded as one of the UK’s best producers, with father-and-son team Bob and Sam Lindo spending the 30 years since the vineyard was founded perfecting their craft and winning a plethora of awards from U.K. Winemaker of the Year to a pile of Decanter Gold medals. They are also a firm favourite of @chefrickstein ... and if it’s good enough for Rick, it’s good enough for me! 🍾
This was my first time tasting anything produced by Camel Valley and it really was just English sparkling perfection. A gentle traditional-method toastiness on the nose, with aromas of freshly picked apples and bread just out of the oven - more brightness on the palate, crisp and refreshing with beautifully soft, velvety little bubbles alongside more fresh apple aromas, a hint of vanilla and just absolutely cracking acidity which went perfectly with creamy garlic prawns 🦐
I always think that the best wines are the ones you enjoy with special people on special occasions, and not only was this wine delicious but it was all the more enjoyable for the fact that I was finally getting a chance to raise a glass with my lovely family. 🥂
