I have been to many places, especially on this trip. But this island needs more than one visit.
Hvar Island is a port and resort town🏝🏝. Yachts fill its harbor in summer⛵⛵. Ferries connect the town with several Croatian Islands just offshore🛳.No wonder that people who live on the island are very friendly, and I guess the reason behind it, is the style of living at the town. The whole island turns to a big party at night🌜, there are so many things to do, as the island has a huge variety of lively bars. Visitors "mostly young and drunk😏" come from different places in Croatia/Europe to stay for the weekend, at night they get very well dressed to spend the whole night drinking and dancing💃💃. I went to the Hula Hula Hvar bar🍻🍻 (unfortunately I spent only one night in Hvar), it's one of the most famous clubs on the island, but I consider it an attraction -a must visit- spot in Hvar. The vibes that I felt over there couldn't be felt somewhere else. The other well known bar on the island is Carpe Deim Club🍹🍹, but I didn't have the time to give it a try. #hvar#oldtown#croatia#island#ferry#yachts#sea#beach#dalmatian#europe#split#tourism#tourist#travel#destinations#monday#instagram#clubs#dance#life#wanderer#explorer#earth#nomads#vacation#party#egypt#traveller#destinations#blogger#nature
Today, The Turkeys walked for 6 hours around the beautiful Plitvice Lake National Park. It is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register. Again, these photos do no justice. This place is visited by 1.7 million people per annum and counting. Make that 1.7 and 2 now that Traveling Turkeys have been! An absolutely beautiful and overwhelming experience. Thank you Croatia 🙏👌❤🇭🇷
One week ago, I got back from a 19-day vacation. A good portion of my travel, I would not label the time as "restful." The time away took on a new meaning of sacred rest, an opportunity to remove myself from the daily duties and worries of home and work, to be present with whatever surfaced. Oddly enough, as my mind so habitually does, I replaced one fear with another. I replaced one activity with another — my yoga studio for a paddleboard and fresh sea breeze. Routine chores for a lounge chair and umbrella. Seated meditation for immersing my soul in the sea and conversing with the Divine and my Sacred Spirit. Though this past week, a blur managing jet lag, home, and work life balance, I feel a more profound sense of contentment. A subtle increase in energy despite moments of haze and fog. As the week came to a close, a sense of inspiration and creativity aired again. I allowed for a spacious weekend — acupuncture, lunch with a dear friend, groceries and errands, creating and cooking, meditation and chanting, cleaning and organizing, hike with a friend, and time reflecting and writing. I even watched a movie at 3:30 in the afternoon on Saturday! Something I rarely do. I have an aversion at times to allow myself to be and rest. I tend to feel guilty as though I "should" be doing something else – reading, writing, working out, cleaning, organizing, getting outside, whatever.
I am making it a practice to come back to the importance of rest and memory of my travels. A time when everyday to-do's and worries dropped away during daily paddleboard excursions and long hours spent on the shore as I stared into the depths of the sea. Nowhere to be, but there.
Croatian blues so stunning they could in the Maldives! 😇⠀
