Often, the time of dusk rings the bell for birds and all our feathered friends from the kite to the asian sparrow, start flying towards their homes. All sorts of homes. Old nests. New nests. Nests under construction. Fan exhausts. Under or over concrete shades. AC units. Bare trees. Homes.... fragile looking but strongly woven. But yesterday, these two birds, spent long minutes, diving out of a tree right in front of my house. Oh how they spun together, dived upwards, flew down...tiny somersaults that were expressions of love. All others flew past them as they rested to catch their breaths on cable wires. There was no rush. No haste to fly home. Carefree spirits just enjoying the sunset. The moment. Perhaps they did not have a home. Perhaps they did not need one. Because perhaps, they had found home in each other, and nothing else mattered.
