Picked up this dress form at Goodwill for $6. My daughter has decided to make a hobby sewing and making cosplay costumes so this was perfect for her. It had a stain in the center that I can only guess was blood (eek). This is big and bulky so we had to make it a part of our decor. The husband started doodling. This will be a work in progress as anyone continues to doodle on it. The “stain” is now the slightly different color in the balloon.
This weeks prompt @artfullyhomes is “Thrifted”. OMG. This is my entire home!
My Fall Decor
As I'm gearing up to decorate for Christmas, I realized I never shared my fall decor. My house was getting new floors and it was a disaster zone! I was only able to decorate with current purchases and DIYs. All my past decor was packed up.
I love the soft neutral tones.
I had to keep it somewhat real since thanksgiving gets skipped over so often. I have loved decorating for Christmas since I could interact with other humans. I had special traditions with both of my parents, and also the whole family, when it came to decorating for the holidays. My mom, siblings, and I would get pumped up to decorate the tree together and made it a whole thing, my mom would play Christmas music, I would put the tree together while my siblings pulled out the lights & ornaments and got them ready to put on the tree. My dad would handle all of the outdoor decorations, him and I would make it a whole day thing. We got it all pulled out of storage the day before. The day of we would go for breakfast sometimes and then go to the store to pick out a new light or decor light to add to it and then come home bundle up and set up all the decor and lights how we wanted them and got the electric all sorted out and wahala. My dad mom and I would also pick out a new ornament to add to the tree every year. ❤ I love holiday traditions, especially with the people you love, its literally the warmest feeling in the whole world! #christmas#christmasdecor#decoratingonabudget#decor#decorations#holidays#christmastime#decoratingindashes#ilovetheholidays#cozy#home#homedecor#homesweethome#familytime#family#love
🔷 ESSENTIALS FOR A WELL DECORATED LIVING ROOM 🔷 ✨ Do you want your living room to look like a page out of an interior design magazine? ✨
Here are 5 items you should incorporate to get the look: 📌 A large area rug – this is the piece that pulls it all together! If you don’t want to splurge on a 9×12 rug, you could get a smaller size to layer over a neutral rug that isn’t quite as expensive. 📌📌 Furniture that meshes but doesn’t match. So think of going to a large furniture store where they have the mock living room setups. Matching couch, love seat and chair to go with the end tables, coffee table and entertainment center that matches too. But to get that designer style, this isn’t what you want! Instead, try pairing a couch with a chair made of a different material. Or mismatched end tables that compliment each other but don’t match exactly. Mix it up! 📌📌📌 Bring in the outdoors – Never underestimate the power of greenery in your living space. Even if it’s “faux” greenery, it will add a pop of color to your space. Try a faux olive tree and put it in a cute wicker, decorative basket. 📌📌📌📌 Lots of accent lighting! Recessed lighting is nice but not to get that stylish look. You’ll want to pull in a variety of lamps and accent lighting. The arched floor lamps give a space a defining look if it works in your living room layout. Or try one standing lamp, some scones by the fireplace and a table lamp or two. 📌📌📌📌📌 A focal point mirror. If you have a mantel or go to spot for a mirror, invest in a piece that fits the space perfectly. One of my favorites is the Gleaming Primrose Mirror from Anthropologie.
It’s beginning to look a lot like festive 🌲
The place was covering in white frosting this morning when I opened my curtains, so I’m posting my first wreath of the year in honour.
For those who love the ‘C’ word .... it’s a Christmas wreath.
For those ‘C’ haters out there .... it’s just your average frost covered halo of greenery 😉👍🏻
There you go.. fence firmly sat on 😂
A quick trick to achieve that clean, yet cozy vibe? #allthegreens !!
•swipe ➡️ and on the last picture you will see the before. I was able to brighten up the space so much by simply replacing the window treatments (I opted for just blinds), adding a nice tall plant and moving some furniture around to give the illusion of a much bigger space! Also, don’t be afraid to mix finishes. Adding this gold mirror made such a huge difference, and the round shape also helped to soften the space. •💫 #reimagined#redesign#decorating#decoratingonabudget#decorationideas#bedroom#bedroomdecor#bedroominspo

When we first moved in the walls here were left as bare plaster. I hated it. I made my husband paint over the lot
Ironic really isn’t it? @duluxuk#crushedcotton on wall and ceiling

I’m so excited for December it’s out of control y’all! I’m out of control haha 😂 It’s not only my favorite Holiday on Earth, it’s also my Birthday Month!!! Woot! Woot!

I just couldn’t wait any longer to put my new wreath up 🙈 patiently waiting for December so I can put my trees up!! 🎄 my news feed is full of them at the moment and I’m getting impatient 😬
If there is ONE zone that I am massively proud to achieve entirely on my own than it has to be our ‘message and command centre’. It is the corner that guests always fall in love with. Ideally, I would love to paint a darker shade on the wall but there are rental restrictions. This DIY has to be my dearest in the moment story.
Hope u like it. •Day 19 •

Adding a little Holiday cheer outdoors and indoors...🎄 1️⃣The first tiny project is the wooden Merry Christmas sign... •5 or 6 pieces of wood
•small can of White Paint
•Merry Christmas sign •red tree skirt
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 All I did for this project was buy a few pieces of wood from Home Depot and the white paint. Paint the wood, drill a screw on the back of the wood and hang the sign from the back. The sign and skirt I purchased at Dollar tree. Total spent= $5 🥀 2️⃣Project Number2 is a simple poinsettia wall basket. For this one I simply added some poinsettias and green leaves to the basket I already had. •Basket is from Hobby Lobby.
•Green leaves are from Hobby Lobby. •Poinsettias are from dollar tree. •The light up M was mine already from TJ Max.
Total cost= $10
In my part of the world, mothers and grandmothers get ready for the winter and summer in rather interesting ways. As the seasons change, all the bedding, mattresses and pillows are given a sunbathing session for a couple of hours because they firmly believe that sun is a natural disinfectant, bleaching agent and most of all, a conditioner. I still remember how I hated to get the laundry from the line outside but at the same time holding the crisp, fluffy and fresh smelling cotton back then definitely played with my sub conscious and ever since I became a home owner (renter) myself, I have been imitating exactly that. But how do I do it when we hardly get a good dose sunlight in winters? Radiators ofcourse! Just prop your pillow on top of the radiator specially when it is running on the highest setting. I strip off all the covers and protectors from the pillows, spray them with a linen spray or fabric deodoriser (diluted @lovezoflora works wonderfully). Leave them on the radiator for an hour on one side and then rotate them repeating the process for the other side. Try it, it really freshens up the pillows. If u have more radiators around the house, ofcourse the process hardly takes any time and you are making good use of energy around the house. Would love to know your ideas to give life to old bedding. -
I have been collecting some pieces over the past few months and so glad to report that things are looking rather harmonious finally. It has been a major struggle in decor department at my hub to keep the flow of colour running smoothly. I hope I achieve it somehow. Will update u if I get off the track. -

Two years ago today I started my blog out of a dark place as I struggled to have kids. I felt a little lost for a while and didnt know my purpose- besides aimlessly walking around the aisles of Homegoods as my therapy. I was getting a lot of questions at that time about the decorating of my own home, when my best friend Eric threw out the idea that I should start a blog. My first blog post was titled “How to Make A Bed” and I remember being super excited when my blog hit 100 reads for the month. I’m pretty positive 50 of those reads were mine from proofreading- but I couldn’t believe there were 50 other people who had interest in what I had to say. By my first anniversary last year I hit over 19k and never in my wildest dreams did I think it would ever get close to that for the following year. My year to date reads today are 46.2k !! I want to thank you all so much for your support. I appreciate the people I’ve met and connected with, worked for, and the opportunities it’s brought my way ❤️. For the next week I’ll be featuring some throwbacks of some of my favorite posts that have gotten bogged down due to the new posts. +
The family command center is complete! A place for mail, keys, the weekly menu, notes for each other and of course another little area to decorate for the holidays. 🍁 Almost everything was from Michaels. The sign and greenery from Joann’s or hobby lobby. I waited for everything to go on sale and everything total was less than $65.
Be patient and just keep watching for pieces you like to get the look you want. This is so fun and perfect to see on the way in or out the door! 😍
