The rusa deer of Moyo Island are early risers, and awakening guests are frequently treated to the sight of the graceful creatures sauntering among Amanwana’s tented suites to graze in the grounds.
Gonna miss mornings like this.
Tough to accept that it'll be a closed season next year. People said it wasn't worth it when it went to a 2 bird limit. Even more hunters said it ain't worth it for the 1 bird limit. And while that's tough to argue... I'm certainly gonna miss the mornings spent with friends watching the sunrise. Getting Brick suited up and ready to "get 'em birds".
Conglomeration of states along the Atlantic Flyway is what's needed for true management and conservation.
Only time will tell.

If this map doesn’t show a link between captive cervid farms and CWD prevalence, I don’t know what does. WTF! Repost from @mattrossqdma using @RepostRegramApp - “Between January 2018 and April 2019, #CWD had been detected in free-ranging cervids in 54 new counties in 16 states...Between April and December 2019 an additional 27 new U.S. counties (out of 309 total positive counties at that time) became CWD positive.”
The above is a direct quote out of the national deer disease update in our soon-to-be released @theqdma 2020 #WhitetailReport
You can say what you want about this terrible, always-fatal disease, but fact is it IS spreading ~ slowly like a cancer. I feel like we update our partners @onxhunt way too often on newly positive counties ( #QDMA works with them in real time to display a layer in their app to show where CWD is currently). Worse, several more counties have actually been flagged since the New Year
If you want to see how much it has spread in the last decade check out the CWD outlook Highlight in my profile. And if you give a sh$t about #deer , join @theqdma or any one of our conservation partners that are fighting it daily

My grandmother passed away earlier this week at 96 years old, after days surrounded by her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She died peacefully, in the midst of all the love she had cultivated in her long life.
It was the best and most beautiful death I could ever have wished for her. Despite that, her loss still echoes profoundly through our family. She will be missed so, so dearly. She has been present in my life since the day I was born. She was in the hospital with my mom while she delivered me, and I’ve had a close bond with her ever since.
What I will remember her most for is her unfaltering kindness. She was sharp and witty to the last, always able to crack a joke, always up to date on current events. She cared deeply about justice and always managed to stay educated on what was happening in the world. She had a deep presence in the lives of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Most of all, I feel so lucky to have known her. My mom was the youngest of her six children, and I myself was born very late in my mom’s life. I’m younger than one of my grandmother’s great-grandchildren. The fact that she has been a constant presence in my life for the past 23 years is such a gift.
I will continue to honor her life and the things she taught me until the day I die.

With alot of therapy her legs are almost perfect now except for her left back hoof. Thank you to her sponsor and the other kind people who are sponsoring some of our non releasable fawn and deer. To help our rescued deer you too could sponsor a fawn or deer or check out our rescues Amazon Wishlist.❤

Stumbled upon this bad boy while enjoying the afternoon at Nara Park. We hung around this dude for about 20 mins, and he instantly became our favorite. I swear he was posing at times. Always have loved visiting this place, and every time I’m there, it feels like I’m on another planet.
