I love these little mini collages. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re magical.😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First I put down random papers. Sometimes I wrap them around the sides and sometimes not. Then I go in with paint. I let my intuition guide me on color, amount and composition. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I might sand them down a little and then I add enamel to some of them if they need a bit of a highlight. It raises the texture and creates reflection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finally I add a supportive and uplifting phrase and viola! Mini canvas magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #miniart#art#mixedmediaartist#mixedmediaart#minicanvases#inspiredaily#delightful#delight#justlove
@pawpawcafe - Peanut butter loaf with coconut ice cream and seasonal fruit and other yum bits and pieces.
My last visit to Pawpaw was not so great. I reached out and let the management know and they refunded my meal and gave me a voucher for another visit. There's definitely been an improvement!
The food pictured here was without comparison - beautifully presented and full of flavour. Every mouthful was delicious. Warm peanut butter cake, fresh and brûlèd fruit, candied peanuts and coconut caramel. So damn yum!
Pictured in the background is their signature hash. An attractive and tasty dish.
Service has been great every time I've visited here as well. Highly recommended.
Pick up the magazine on the counter as well. It has the recipe for this loaf inside so you can replicate the dish yourself.
Check, Please! (2013-2020?)
Writer/Artist: Ngozi Ukazu
Delightful is an easy term to throw around, but it perfectly encompasses “Check, Please!”, a webcomic by Ngozi Ukazu that is closing in on its finale. The story follows a freshmen college hockey player (and former figure skater) named Eric “Bitty” Bittle who vlogs about his life, the team, and sometimes even baking. The vlog framework is mostly used as a narrative shortcut for direct address exposition at the beginning/end of a chapter, an effective tool that allows more space for the emotional, addicting storytelling that ignores that conceit almost entirely. Bitty is a young gay man coming of age in college and within a primarily sports-focused environment - the story chronicles his coming out and the many & continuous ways that manifests and is challenging across his years at school. It’s a very positive, best-case but still somewhat grounded narrative in a setting that is less typical for lgbtq stories. Ukazu deftly employs sports as genre - every instance of practice or gameplay we are actually shown is effectively dramatized by being a reflection of something a character is going through: we see Bitty’s annoyance on the ice when his frustrating father is visiting for parents weekend, the emotional stakes of winning a playoff game isn’t victory but the happiness of a character Bitty has fallen in love with, etc. As a webcomic, Ukazu’s canvas is wider than it is long (similar to a screen, unlike a printed page), and she often chooses to portray the story’s most emotional moments in single frames. It’s an effective method of focus and emphasis, whether wide or close on the characters to best convey their feelings. And also - she can sure draw a tasty looking pie!

#ramka#urodzinowa#what#a#wonderful#delightful#extraordinary#dayw
