One of my favorite things about my @fjallraven_na gear is weatherproofing it.
I got a new pair of pants while in Colorado and felt like doing some upkeep on my Ovik15 pack and other pair of pants.
A few thousand desert miles on these guys and they are still in great condition.
... Something OLD, Something NEW

Saying goodbye to one of my favorite trails tonight. Did almost a 12 mile loop in the winter Phoenix clouds - finishing up in the darkness with sprinkles dancing around in the beam of my headlamp. It was bittersweet. For those that don’t know, my time in the Valley of the Sun has come to an end as I’m planting new roots in South Carolina. I’ve been searching for what feels like home for quite some time and every time I go back East, it’s harder for me to leave. The West will always have my heart and my adventures out here will continue. It’s just going to be structured a bit differently. I’m looking forward to being close to family and having a cute place to renovate and call my own. More to come...❤️
👉🏼This is a picture of a gas forced air furnace installed in an attic. We can see the vent pipe is sloped in the wrong direction. All gas appliances need proper venting to maintain their safety. When gas is burned it creates carbon monoxide. As I’m sure you know, carbon monoxide can be deadly. It’s very important to make sure all gas appliances are vented correctly. Although this condition is potentially very dangerous, it’s not a big fix at all. Most of the time vert pipes can be fixed with minimal effort. Call AmeriSpec today and get your gas appliances checked for safety👌🏽
Love this desert. Always look beyond your box. Nature is everywhere. #desertliving

A lot of people always ask, “Why Joshua Tree?” Well, amongst other reasons... I’m just grateful I have a roof over my head, warmth when I need it during these cold nights and a/c when it gets hot during the sizzling summers. I’ve always admired nature and I’m happy where I’m at. People will always find the negative in places without experiencing the environment first hand. I feel blessed and that’s all that matters ♥️🥰 #desertliving#joshuatreeliving#natureatitsbest#blessing
My Hibiscus Sabdariffa AKA Roselle seeds are ready for harvest. I saved seeds from my best grower this past season. Seed saving can be tedious work and I think very few people know how much time goes into the process. Next time that you scoop seeds from a seed sharing event or when a friend shares seed think about the time, energy and effort that went into growing and collecting those seeds. Seed saving is a labor of love.

What dreamy thoughts visit you when you watch the sky fire ball slowly hide behind the mountains? What visions of the future or maybe memories of the past flash in front of your eyes? What is the last thought that you have before the heavy eye lids gently cover your eyes and you are carefully taken into the dreamland, where anything is possible?.. #dreamy#evening#dreamland#sunset#whitesands
Happy Saturday friends!
So the Garland we bought at Costco was too long for our kitchen!
And we had no choice but to let it hang off the side 😂😆
I think it still looks cool though!
It also makes the kitchen look so pretty when all the lights are turned off😍
I still want to buy some more decorations for the living room and dining room, so off to Hobby Lobby I go!
What will you be doing this weekend?
“One thing we love about the desert is its dynamic simplicity,” says architect Cavin Costello, one half of husband-and-wife team @theranchmineofficial. The pair designed this Phoenix, Arizona, residence as an homage to the stately saguaro cactus. Built for a couple who’d relocated from Montana, the 1,850-square-foot home features pleated metal ridges, forked ribs in patterned hemlock, and a recessed entry corridor that references a saguaro boot—a nesting hole often inhabited by desert birds. “The climate has shaped everything to its essence, creating unique patterns and forms because of the specialized requirements to survive—or, ideally, to thrive,” Costello explains. Tour the desert dream home when you try Dwell+ in the link in bio.
