Does anyone know about Erythromelalgia? I have a doctors appointment in January to discuss this very peculiar illness I never knew existed. My hands get like this often as well as my ears and my face. We originally thought hives and by we I mean my team of specialists lol. I thought maybe it was lupus when I started getting the rash on my face and combined with other symptoms it made sense but again my test came back negative. I mentioned raynauds but the doctors didn’t think so. Anyway long story longer, they basically gave me allergy meds and said it’s probably just poor circulation. A few days ago my feet were super red (not after standing. I have been on mostly bed rest) and felt like they were on fire. Like I had covered my entire body except my feet and left them out in the sun for a day! I’ve been having to ice my burning body parts and I said ok I’ve had enough of this shit. I am pretty convinced that Erythromelalgia is the culprit and would like personal accounts from people suffering from this specific illness. Also I know that I shouldn’t ice things for too long but nothing else seems to help. My ear was on fire today (my daughter said it looked like I fell asleep on a heating pad) and it was raining outside and I had the fan and an ice pack to my face! Anyway... calling all spoonies. Do you have experience with #erythromelalgia and do you think this is it? If so what should I say to get them to take it seriously. If not by all means I am open to other suggestions. (Also I usually brighten my photos but when I did the redness went away and I wanted this image to be authentic)

A nice leisurely walk in chipping Barnet rocking the Genium X 3.
There is a clear distinctive difference between the Genium X3 and the C Leg.
The C leg is a very good MPK however the Geniumx3 is in a class of its own giving you so much more stability.
In turn meaning you don’t have to think as much when you are walking.
Trusting your knee is paramount.
Don’t get me wrong the C Leg is a brilliant knee and gives you freedom to truly get about and enjoy life!
Any knee requires total dedication to strengthening the parts of your body that enable you to mobilise to your fullest extent.

How I’ve managed to WORK, on my feet, for 7 hours:
First of all, it’s hard. I recognize my privilege and understand that not every disabled person can work. That narrative is valid, and so is mine. .
Here’s some tips that work for me (and so far my feedback from my supervisor has been positive!!)
1️⃣LOAD with propranolol and modafinil before shift .
2️⃣wear medical grade compression socks .
3️⃣have water bottle behind counter and drink as often as possible .
Nathan has undergone five surgeries following his work accident. Each one has been a life saving operation and we can't thank the doctors and nurses enough for helping us through such a difficult period.
Nathan's brain injury was detected only after he suffered complete hemiplegia of his left side. With his brain swelling and his condition worsening, he had to undergo a craniectomy which removed a portion of his skull to help reduce swelling.
Following this, his condition became critical and he required emergency surgery to clear a hemorrhage. This saved his life and he later spent time in the stroke and rehab wards.
A few months later he was given the go ahead for a cranioplasty, where his own bone was inserted back in. However an infection complicated his recovery and he had to undergo a second craniectomy to remove the bone flap again.
After a long course of antibiotics, Nathan was finally approved for his second cranioplasty, this time with a custom acrylic plate.
We are happy to report that this has been his last surgery to date and although there are imperfections in his face (his right temporal muscle has dropped as a result of the surgeries) we are thankful that he is alive. Most of our married life has been in and out of hospitals so we appreciate any time we have together.

* Assoc *
Nothing more, nothing less.
It’s all there in black & white. Or is it?
Q. How can a business determine if the animal is a service animal?
A. When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.
Q. When can a business exclude or ask to remove an animal?
A. (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken.

"Lately, I keep having the sudden urge to dip my hand in a bag of glitter… purple glitter to be exact. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been home in two and a half years, maybe it’s because I’m totally done being an adult, or maybe it’s because the universe is telling me to become a raver. The root of this impulse emerged when I was a kid..."
Clearly, I'm not afraid to get messy. If you're intrigued about why that is, keep reading. Link in bio. #disabled#disabilityadvocate#disabilityadvocate#disabledpeoplearehot#disabledmodel#disabilityblogger

I haven’t been coming on Instagram lately. I think ignorance is bliss and when I tune out how happy everyone else is and how great everyone else’s lives are I seem to feel a little better about my situation. Everyone gets to go outside and experience things and it just makes me angry. I used to love Instagram and looking through everyone’s pictures and seeing all my smiling friends. Laughing at Memes and watching people ice beautiful cakes! For some reason I seem to enjoy my life more when I’m not comparing it to others and the only way I know how to do that is to basically not look at anyone else’s life. As fucked up as it sounds it’s actually been working for me. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. But I’m still alive I’m still here and I just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am OK. 🖤
Whoever enjoys Mondays should probably get tested....I’m just saying, there’s something in the Monday morning air that just throws everyone off. Is it the idea that we are about to start the same weekly routine? Probably. Thus, after a long humorous yet worrisome discussion with myself 😌I have agreed that I will treat myself every Monday. That includes endless pastries (if I so choose ), ponder on the idea of buying something nice for myself (even if it is as insignificant and absurd as a 10 foot phone charger), and giving my assistants a hard time (just for kicks and giggles). Today, I got these amazing thigh-high sneakers from @shopakira ,they were surprisingly easy to put on...I wanted to give my assistants a hard time but that mission failed🤷🏻♀️ But it’s still starting to seem like a sunny side up type of Monday. #disabled#disabilityadvocate#disabilityadvocate#disabledpeoplearehot#disabledmodel#disabilityblogger
Așa că, there she is!
And because of her, I am so amazing. Why? Because as i said before, like mother like daughter, right?
✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 here’s a other very important skill for everyone in a wheelchair, we all hate it but from time to time it just happens and we are falling backwards 🤷🏼♂️ It’s very important to have the knowledge, technique and skill to coming back in the regular position. That’s why i really like this training a lot, it helps me to improve about the tipping point of the wheelchair and also how to hold on the wheelchair and pushing me back into the more comfortable position ♿️. I hope you like this video and you can learn a little bit - especially where to grab and how to push.
It’s always a pleasure to share videos like this, let me know if you have questions in the comments below. ❤️♿️ #youcan#wheelchairtraining
Disabled bodies are not celebrated like abled bodies are, and that is a hill I will die on.
Ask yourselves how many disabled people you follow? Do you big us up like you do non-disabled people? Are you a good ally?
Disabled people already know what disabled people need so often I feel I’m shouting into a void, I need others to help get the message across, to make our voices heard, to support us. Shout with us when we discuss inaccessibility, discrimination and all the other barriers we face. Shout with us to make them listen. •
