We truly believe that yoga has benefits for each and every person, and we strive to offer classes that are both accessible and affordable. Please join us Sunday December 15th at 7:00pm for our first Donation Based yoga class. There is no class fee, just a recommended donation for the Dixon Food Pantry of any amount. We really mean ANY amount- there is no amount too small. We know budgets are tight especially during the holiday season. We also have mats and props to borrow- so don't worry if you don't have a yoga mat. There is no pre-registration since it is donation based, so please arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up your space in the studio.
We really hope you'll join us, and that this will be the first of many community classes!
This is my sister. Fun fact she thought that the fresh prince theme song went “chillin out maxin relaxin all cool and all shootin some MEATBALLS outside of the school” until she was like 18. Because meatballs definitely makes the most sense¿?

"Warrior pose battles inner weakness and wins focus. You see that there is no war within you. You are on your own side, and you are your own strength." -Terri Guillemets
Nothing like a studio full of fierce warriors. We love Warrior II- It's accessible to yogis at all experience levels and opens up the body. It's a pose that draws in strength to the body, mind, and soul. Energy comes up from the strong foundation in the feet, through the legs, up through the torso and through the crown of the head, with a beautiful energetic line from finger tip to finger tip across the body.
Last day of vacation. It's been a great one! Great things are happening. Building from the ground up and preparing for the future.
Tonight we finish with instapot steak fajitas and a little @micheal_franti_ to end the night. I hope all of you are doing great! Have a wonderful night and a beautiful day tomorrow!
Did you grow up in a big city or a small town or somewhere in between? .
I grew up in a smallish town. Dixon Illinois. Hometown of President Ronald Reagan. This arch is a war memorial over the Galena Avenue (which we “cruised” every weekend because there wasn’t much else to do but drive around.)
We had a McDonald’s and a Dairy Queen but not much else. I had big city dreams but the older I got the more I found my heart loved the cornfields that surrounded my house and the river that ran behind it. I liked knowing people and the sense of community... it was in my bones. And I suppose that’s why I write small town fiction. Revisiting those feelings every time I write a book, that sense of nostalgia instantly wraps me up and makes me feel at home. .
Someone asked me once if I’d ever set a story in a big city and I’m not sure I will. As much as I love NYC and loved my time there, it didn’t end up feeling like home to me. And I want my stories to feel like home. .
So how about you? Small town or big city? .

Nothing says fall like exploring the incredible parks in the Land of Lincoln. We love this shot of Lowell Park in Dixon taken by @julesnus88. What do you love most about autumn in Illinois? Share with us by tagging #EnjoyIllinois
