You didn't think we'd miss International Mountain Day did you? This is the first year I'd even pay attention to a day that's meant to acknowledge mountains. Prior to last spring I was very much a casual few times a year hiker (at best) but I would always admire mountains from a distance. .
Then along came Luka, as he grew up we started hitting some trails here and there because he's a high energy pup that needed to get his beans out. Fast forward to now, sometimes I'm not sure who's more excited to tackle a big hike, me or him. In the short time I've been climbing mountains I've had the opportunity to experience exhilirating views that have practically moved me to tears. I've set goals and had my physical and mental grit tested on more than one occasion. I've hiked through sun, rain, monsoon, hail and snow and I've climbed rocks, crossed rivers, sunk deeper than I'd like in mud puddles and bailed on ice. And most importantly I've been able to experience all of this with Luka by my side. .
The list of gentle (and not so gentle) giants that I want to climb continues to grow and I can't wait to tackle them with Luka leading the way. #internationalmountainday
Welp! If you didn’t know, now ya know. ☓
Everyone meet Summit! She’s a chocolate merle border collie and the newest addition to our family. She has her own page @conqueringsummit we promise to be more active, and can’t wait to pick up where we left off. It’s been a wild 2019 but 2020 will definitely be better. 💪🏻

What do the twinkle lights and I have in common? We’re both ~lit~ 💡
Nothing is beyond our reach. Somedays you have to crawl to it, tears streaming down your face. Other days it's as easy as a step forward. But never stop believing into yourself. You gave yourself the power to go through, don't let anybody hold you back.
