This girl! She brings so much joy to our family! I love watching her grow, which is happening FAST! I love seeing my kids react to her and take on new responsibilities, sometimes without even complaining. 😮 I love the new dimension of love that she has brought into our home that outweighs the little inconveniences of pet ownership (much like parenting). ♥️🐾 #GoldendoodlesAreTheBest
1K Giveaway! ...Just kidding, I have nothing. In fact, if possible, I’d like to take something from you.
I’m sort of surprised (yet excited!) that more than a handful of people care to hear me talk, vent, etc, about animals and school. For some reason I’ve been feeling weird about sharing things lately. Sometimes I still get uncomfortable making personal posts... it’s led me to think about why I started this account. I did it because I got to vet school and started to learn things I always wanted to know as a pet parent. I was frustrated that simple information was often not conveyed until owners had to learn it the hard way, through personal experience, often at the expense of the pet’s health. Along the way I found a crazy little world of veterinary social media-ists. An unexpected perk. This support team has been more beneficial to me than I could have imagined. Along with sharing information I began sharing experiences, advice, etc.. because no one wants to just see informational posts from a stranger, and honestly a lot of what I’m learning right now is very inapplicable to the day-to-day pet parent life (unless you find yourself wondering how your pet concentrates urine or metabolizes drugs). Although I’ve grown by creating a social network with other medical field professionals and will continue to post ”school stuff,” I don’t want to lose sight of my original purpose: to talk to average pet parents that aren’t in this field to help them navigate a world that is important to all of us: caring for the fluffiest members of our family. So here is what I would like to take from you- if you are a pet parent, please let me know if there is something you have always wanted to know about caring for your pet. If you are in this field- tell me something you think every pet owner should know, or tag a pet parent! (It’s hard to get the attention of owners with a handle like thehappyvetstudent). I hope to gain some sense of what pet parents wants to know to make more informative posts in the future. I may not know the answers yet- but I can do my best to figure them out. So please, ask away! Oh, and thank you❤️😊
