THERE IS NO PLANET B 🌎
Sixteen year old climate activist, Greta Thunberg, arrived in New York last month after crossing the Atlantic (via an emission free sailboat) to attend the UN Climate Action Summit. Today she joins thousands upon thousands of youth (and adults) across the globe to participate in the climate strike, in bringing awareness to the urgency of global climate change. 🌍
There is only one planet earth, the place we call home. We will not have a home if we don’t collectively listen, and respond to, the science that so clearly tells us we are destroying the planet. It’s is our responsibility to challenge politicians, to make individual changes on a daily basis, to stay informed and get involved. 🌎 #climatestrike#fridaysforfuture#strikewithus#Repost@carolynmurphy

You’ll be too busy.
A baby and a puppy - you can’t do that.
Let me get one thing straight - you tell me I can’t do something, you’re going to eat your words.
I’ve always been a busy person and why should that change being on maternity leave? I’m at home almost 24/7, what better time to train a puppy than then?
Journalists Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly released a report yesterday that includes corroboration (by 7 people) of Deborah Ramirez’s sexual harassment allegation against SCOTUS Justice Brett Kavanaugh. It also includes a previously unreported (new) allegation of a strikingly similar incident that happened the same year (Kavanaugh’s freshman year of college at Yale). Both incidents involve Kavanaugh forcing or attempting to force women to touch his penis. As you might remember, the FBI declined to interview anyone on a list of 25 people that Deborah Ramirez provided that could potentially corroborate her experience. They also declined to investigate the second allegation. They (and the senators who also had access to this information) were not interested in the truth, or in listening to women. Kavanaugh was confirmed by a vote of 50-48 last October. Those 50 people (including Democrat from West Virginia Joe “Disappointment” Manchin) chose greed, self interest, paternalism, and misogyny over everything and everyone else. They didn’t hold their nose and vote for his confirmation, they confirmed him because they believe in a structure that privileges white men’s egos and lies over everyone else’s safety. They believe the spot on the Supreme Court is rightfully his, and that he didn’t really do anything wrong. It’s likely that some of them have done something similar to the allegations against Kavanaugh. In things that will surprise no one, my rage re: Brett Kavanaugh has been simmering under the surface for the past year. He is a liar, an abuser, and a national disgrace. I’m filled with fear that this is the kind of person we have making decisions that will impact all of us for decades. I believe all of the women that sacrificed their well-being to come forward and share their stories of his abuse (and I believe anyone that chose not to come forward, as well). I am in awe of their courage. We didn’t forget, Brett. #ImpeachKavanaugh#Repost@thesweetfeminist ・・・ #BelieveWomen
MAN CONQUERS BOULDER! 61 > 425
They looked at me and laughed when I told them to just load the 425 pound boulder into my pickup, and I'd get it where it needed to be - NO tools. Who's laughing now? Who says you can't keep doing "physical" stuff when you get "old"? #nevergiveup#donttellmeicant#oldisawesome#refusetolose#nevertooold
Ok autumn. You win.
Time to transition into the cooler days and nights that draw in earlier.
Things I'm not ready for:
Slight internal debate about whether the length of this easy wear piece makes it a tunic top or a dress 😳. You know me by now 🤷🏻♀️. I'm rogue.
I picked out the navy and paired with tights and heels.
Can be worn over leggings in winter, with boots. This is going to be wardrobe work horse and I love the print!
This week was a huge lesson in recovery from a bad day at the gym.
Anxiety almost successfully lied to me again.
It's only because I have so many awesome people in my corner to remind me that I can do this, that I belong here as much as anybody else.
I went back yesterday to the gym and killed it.
Thank you @linzrific and @casual_candid for always having my back. @bertlebee I don't know what I did to deserve your help. Thank you!
Captain, I don't know where you get your patience to be always by my side. #2019vaultopen

Back at it with Milly! After my bestie went back down unda, I only squeezed one run in! I've been walking regularly but didn't really run until today! And boy, you sure lose momentum if you dont keep at it.... So I had to switch to running on and off after the first 10 min, but I'm still at it.
Her name is #ChanelMiller . This is what courage looks like. She is a national hero. #KnowMyName@usowomen
Her anonymous letter to the stranger who sexually assaulted her at Stanford went viral three years ago. .
Via @nytimes: "For four years, the woman whose Stanford University sexual assault case caused a public outcry, has been known only as 'Emily Doe.' In her new memoir, 'Know My Name,' which charts her life since then, she reveals her real name: Chanel Miller."
Now, with her memoir coming out in a few weeks, she’s sharing her real name (via @_missconcepcion@nytimes ). Nice to meet you, Chanel. Can’t wait to read your book. ♥️ 📷: @tangerine__scream

GREAT NEWS! In response to the shooting in its El Paso store last month that killed 22 people, @walmart announced it will discontinue all sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition that can be used with military style weapons, discontinue sales of handgun ammunition and stop all handgun sales in Alaska. It sounds like a no brainer, but I’ll take it. #repost : @momsdemand#Repost@katiecouric ・・・@resistancerevivalchorus#Repost "Well I went down to the NRA and I took back what they stole from me/

Every time we sing "Rich Man's House," a song from the labor movement, we switch up the lyrics: Went down to the/governor's house, jailhouse, border, White House. Yesterday, after the terrorism of this weekend's truly horrific mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton that occurred within 24 hours of each other, there was no question we'd be calling out the NRA and when we did, you could *feel* it land in the crowd. As chorus member @katequarfordt described it, "The whole place got electric with emotion." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use that emotion. We should all be outraged. There is no reason for anyone to own an assault weapon in this country. They are weapons of war designed and developed for a specific military purpose. Their only purpose outside of a battlefield is mass murder and mayhem. Call Congress: 202-225-3121 and 202-224-3121
Four-fingered left hand practice. I totally resist practicing the left hand alone. My pinkie can’t bend so it gets sore pretty easily. But I gotta practice left hand alone to work out the wonky fingerings.
Day 10 (I think) of 100 Days of Practice.

Thinking of my master plan to command vast, unending armies of puppies whose devastating and merciless cuteness will overwhelm whole nations, thus leaving me as their adorable empress and the unimpeachable leader of the free world forever and always. 👑
