Jones's dosage went up, and after a few days of some extra edginess, we're seeing a HUGE change: dreaming.
We noticed pretty quickly that he was napping perhaps as much as usual, but with far more commitment to the nap. He was having amazing paw-twitchy dreams, and we would interrupt whatever we were doing to just watch him. It occurred to me then to wonder WHY we were so fascinated; it's not as though dreaming dogs are a novelty in the house. Then I realized that Jones has only rarely had active dreams like these, and now he is having them multiple times a day. Given how important dreams are for human brains, I imagine that they are equally important for our dogs.
Thinking of all the clutter he must be sorting through and how much more completely he is relaxing, I'm pretty sure I'll be obsessed with watching him running and digging in his sleep for a while to come. 💕
