Learner driver Mitra fails driving test for stopping at green light but thinks she has no mistakes.
Mitra takes a mock driving test to understand what her main driving faults are. In this driving test, she makes eight serious driving faults. Mitra thinks she only made a driving fault on the reverse parallel parking manoeuvre and that her general driving was okay.
We help Mitra understand all the driving faults so she can improve and hopefully pass her driving test soon.
Traffic-calming measures. On some roads there are features such as road humps, chicanes and narrowings which are intended to slow you down. When you approach these features reduce your speed. Allow cyclists and motorcyclists room to pass through them. Maintain a reduced speed along the whole of the stretch of road within the calming measures. Give way to oncoming road users if directed to do so by signs. You should not overtake other moving road users while in these areas.
Parking seems like the hardest task until you master it with the Aria Driving School instructors. Parking is one of the areas in which tests are conducted. Ask questions, practice, and review the process before appearing for your test.
Take extra care on country roads and reduce your speed at approaches to bends, which can be sharper than they appear, and at junctions and turnings, which may be partially hidden. Be prepared for pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists, slow-moving farm vehicles or mud on the road surface.
Distractions while driving are great causes of accidents. Did you know that texting makes a crash up to 23 times more likely?
According to AT&T's Teen Driver Survey, 97% of teens agree that texting while driving is dangerous, yet 43% do it anyway. Focus on driving and keep your phone for later, your loved ones need you back.
Bus lanes are shown by road markings and signs that indicate which (if any) other vehicles are permitted to use the bus lane. Unless otherwise indicated, you should not drive in a bus lane during its period of operation.
‘Staggered' pelican or puffin crossings. When the crossings on each side of the central refuge are not in line they are two separate crossings. On reaching the central island press the button again and wait for a steady green figure.
What you wear to protect your eyes will very much depend on the helmet you have chosen – goggles for off-road and visors for adventure / dual sport helmets. As with helmets, protecting your eyes is real important as they don’t respond well to damage. Get a loose stone flip up into your iris and you might well lose the sight in your eye, so protecting them should be a priority. They need to be comfortable, have nice wide foam padding to absorb sweat and sit well on your face, and they need to fit the aperture of your helmet, so take it along when you are buying or trying. Your brakes and steering will be adversely affected by under-inflated or over-inflated tyres.
You should check your tyre pressure weekly. Do this before your journey, when tyres are cold. Warm or hot tyres may give a misleading reading.

Brake failure is one of the scariest things which may happen to drivers. It is always better to know if your brakes are not performing normally before any road trip to avoid accidents. Some signs to look out for include - screeching, rubbing or grinding noises, shaking in your brake pedal or steering wheel, and a burning smell from your tires. The easiest way to prevent this is through vehicle maintenance and by visiting your trusted auto mechanic regularly. Drive safe!
Rain showers can come pouring at any time these days. Here's a quick tip to safe driving in poor visibility during wet weather.
No, this has nothing to do with food! Instead, you will need to leave extra room behind the car in front of you in case a sudden stop is necessary. Using lamp poles as a landmark, start counting once the car in front of you passes a specific pole. If you pass the same pole before you can count to three, you're following too closely.

If the police want to stop your vehicle they will attract your attention by • flashing blue lights, headlights or sounding their siren or horn
• directing you to pull over to the side by pointing or using their indicator.
You MUST then pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so.

We started a new week, well attached to the steering wheel ;) Do you know the origin of driving gloves and their benefits? 🤚⬇️
The origin of the gloves goes back to the first vehicles, when driving one of these machines was more like dressage of a horse: the gloves provided a protective work, absorbing vibrations (imagine the suspensions, tires and the road surface at that time), but in turn had to be protected from the inclemency of the weather and the impact of objects (insects and stone chips).
✅Despite the improvements in the automotive industry, the use of gloves continues to have significant benefits:
1️⃣ Greater control, providing a superior grip and steering control.
2️⃣ Reduces hand fatigue by reducing wheel vibrations when driving for long periods of time.
3️⃣ Maintains your steering wheel in good shape, acting as a protective barrier.
4️⃣ Offer greater comfort in extreme weather conditions.
5️⃣ Lots of Class.

Researchers based at London’s Royal College of Art 🇬🇧 were recently tasked with using robotics 🤖 to help people with their jobs. A group came up with a robotic steering wheel that can be used by taxi drivers 🚖 working for companies like Uber.
The wheel can be fitted onto a regular steering wheel and features an inflatable 🎈 silicon insert. This connects to a navigation system and can keep the driver focused on the road 🛣, rather than on the screen. How? When the driver needs to turn, the correct side of the wheel (left or right) will inflate slightly. Not only does this help with navigation but it also improves the comfort of the driver 👍. It’s only a research project for now but could become a reality, paving the way for humans and robots to work in unison.
How else could technology be used to help with driving?
