Airstreaming full time for over a month now. •
Things we’ve lost: laundry at a first trip to the laundromat, a secure way to lock our suicide door, and a wheel. 🤦🏻♀️
Things we’ve gained: A pet fly that doesn’t quit, major organization skills, and freedom. •
The freedom piece is mind blowing to us both. No often daunting “airstream work” to rush back to - or feel overwhelmed by. We have the freedom to make plans, to relax at home, or to pursue other hobbies. Or not! Wut. •
Buying a vintage airstream less than six months into our relationship means that in a big way our entire adventure has been centered around this renovation. Around one major undertaking or the next. About sourcing this part, or creating this piece. It was incredibly rewarding, but equally taxing. Something we wouldn’t take back, but would never repeat. •
It brought us here. To a new process of shifting into an unknown chapter of our relationship. We don’t exactly know how it will unfold because we chronically stacked our plates full at all times. •
This week though, we starting plotting out what we wanted to do. It was such a realization that we had nothing - not ONE thing - on our radar that we HAD to do. No projects, no deadlines, no mandatory trips to Home Depot or Lowe’s. Sure, we have many small to-dos that are on our minds, but the freedom is here and now. To choose when and how we want to tackle that list. 🤯
So what does that look like? For Stace it’s a lot of quiet reflection and recharge in the Airstream. Reorganizing and tidying over and over again until things start to look just right. It’s a visit to her parent’s house and going out for coffee. For Mike it’s getting back to work, maybe some uncertain pacing, and side-eying some of Stace’s new “decor.” •
Here’s to all of us that have made it to the other side of an Airstream reno! There’s nothing like waking up and living in a house you built all on your own 🥰

Maiden ebike ride along the camels in Mesa. Great way to test out many of the features! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If we had to pick a favorite spot we've stayed at so far, it would be pretty difficult to narrow things down. All of the campsites have been so different from one another and offered a unique experience.
What's your ideal camping spot? Right along the beach? The edge of a cliff? In the mountains?
Chase all decked in holiday finery and ready for Christmas...bring it on🎄🎄🎄

Boondocking, free camping, wild camping. No matter what you call it, boondocking is a fact of RV travel. Many people associate boondocking with camping out in the wild on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. Some might even think of it as more of a vanlifer thing to do.
Just in case you're wondering... ten days... yes ten is exactly how many days we can dry camp with nine people!! No electricity, no water hookup, no sewer. Nine butts using the toilet, nine people worth of dishes, over 100 gallons of water, and 8 gallons of propane. Did I mention there are three dogs too? Two who are over 75lbs!! I am beyond impressed with our own achievement and here we are dumping and going for more. Sitting here waiting for the hubs to get back, meanwhile, cleaning and keeping watching over our temporary acreage lol
The boondocking season is open for us; finally | Acampamento grátis, na praia! [english below]…
🇺🇸 Our first free spot couldn’t be any better!!
We started moving west (slowly) and are finally able to camp for free on spots like this one!
We know that there is some free land on the east coast too, but it is just harder to find. We are so happy about the extra savings we are going to have next year, but also for these views, privacy, and freedom for the dogs!!
We have been following @fateunbound for all the tips about the best places to boondock, their reviews and details are just perfect, go check it out!
Yay! Our new die cut stickers ordered is on the way. 👌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

This amazing neon sign has a little history and is just just down the street from our park. Built in 1960 is 70ft tall sign. The blonde continuously plunges into the pool. Locals call her the Diving Lady. She was erected to advertis the Starlite Motel outdoor pool right here in Mesa. She is visible a mile in each direction.
About 4 years ago we started listening to @theminimalists and started to think of our "stuff" differently. It was a process. A change of thinking. When we really started to use the tools, the emotional weight was lifted. We gave ourselves 2 years to sell 2 homes, and a lifetime of "stuff" inside. We left that driveway in a 39 foot RV with everything we owned. And even some empty cabinets. It's still a work in progress. We see the sale ad's, we get the 150 emails of 50% off sales. We are still tempted. There are still wants. And it's not that we don't ever buy anything. It's not that we don't get things that bring us joy. But now we just think about it a little longer. The impulse is not given into.
So, no, we won't be out at midnight on Thanksgiving standing in line at Best Buy. And no, we won't be shopping tomorrow on Black Friday. We will be home, enjoying each other and our life together. Because in the end, those are the moments we'll remember and cherish.
One of our greatest memories is getting to meet Josh from @theminimalists by total chance while we were workamping up in Montana. Such a great memory!
We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with RV friends @offourrockerrv, @imagineourrvdreams and Mark & Donna we have met along our journey. We also met a new friend Karen. (Activity Director for the RV Park). We had great food, thought provoking conversations ,tons of laughter and a gals vs guys rousing game of Pictionary (gala won) . Grateful for this special time together! 💝💝💝
Out in the middle of nowhere at an undisclosed location 😂 where off road vehicles & shooting guns is life but it was crazy windy this past Monday so we ended up playing Army of Two instead of testing survival gear 🤣 that is until it was time for night ops ⚡

A question we get frequently about boondocking / off-grid living is:
Do you feel safe?
Louis and I are the type of people who naturally feel safe, but we take precautionary efforts to stay extra safe.

Here are some tips to help you feel safe camping or living off-grid:
🔑This may sound obvious but make sure to lock the door every time you leave and right when you come back inside.
👋🏽If there are people camped within walking distance, go introduce yourself! You will feel safer knowing who your neighbors are and they can help keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
📶If you don’t have cell phone signal at your site, find out the nearest place with it, in case you need to call emergency services.
🔒Lock your belongings/trailer if you leave it behind for a day trip. We have two hitch locks and are getting a tire lock. I personally have not heard of a trailer getting stolen boondocking, but have heard of it happening at RV parks. So sad!! Invest in a couple good methods to lock your trailer in place so this doesn’t happen to you.

Being out in the middle of no where can be scary at first, but give it a shot! You too can learn that being out in the wild, isn’t as scary you thought, it’s quite the opposite☺️
