Throwback Thursday to a piece from July 2012. This 10x30 painting was part of a show I had at Jitters Coffee in Duluth. The show was one of my first and featured many local scenes, collectively titled Urban Oasis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lizzards Gallery has a sweet selection of work by myself and many amazing local artists. They also offer framing services ... and are awesome gift wrappers too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What a commute 😮❄️ Minnesota nurse Emily Ceglar snowshoed 2.5 hours to work when a blizzard made it too dangerous to drive.
Way to go from FlexRN! We love your dedication to your patients and coworkers.

We have the best employees! The day after a blizzard dumped almost 2 feet of snow, Emily (a St. Luke’s Nurse) walked 2.5 hours in snowshoes to get to St.Luke’s because of road conditions. Thanks for your dedication to our patients and your coworkers, Emily! #stlukesduluth#slhduluth#duluth#blizzard

I can’t wait for all the amazing trips that are planned in 2020 with @brianaleephotography and by myself.
I never thought I would like traveling by myself, but now I’m kind of addicted to it now.
There’s a sort of confidence you get by navigating through an airport by yourself and not missing your flight 😅
If you want to travel more in 2020, I challenge you to just DO IT. Get on google right now and type in where you want to go. You’ve always wanted to go to Nashville? Then go. Book your flight today. You’ve always wanted to go to Switzerland? (I’m still working on that too😂) Just figure it’s out. I promise you won’t regret it.
vinyls on the record player + tea + studying + cleaning + journaling + reading + sleeping in + doing laundry + sweat pants + organizing + yoga in the living room. and mmmmm re-finding the sweet spot between being productive + being restful
here’s the truth— many of us minnesotans were snowed in this weekend and honestly, i’m soooo thankful. with this busy holiday weekend telling us to get out + do + shop + be social..... do you ever feel like momma nature just knows what you need? i had so many “plans” this weekend that needed to be cancelled because of weather and i realize the true thing i *needed* was to rest. i have found SUCH peace in this weekend — permission to stay home, to clear the schedule, to relax, to stay inside. i feel so much more peaceful + rejuvenated ... annnnnnd my to-do list *still* got accomplished even though i had time to be still. the grad school + working juggle has been nutty this semester— but i am reminded that i can *be* busy without having to *feel* busy
because guess what— there really is a sweet spot in the middle of being restful + being productive. and i can always seek that place—
mmmmm, just thankful for the wisdom of the seasons and the pace of nature for reminding us there *is* the time + space for everything— including rest. sometimes you just need a little snow apocalypse to remind ya😉✨

As the snow and wind blew out of town Sunday morning, Duluth's front doors opened to the sound of shovels, snowblowers and, every so often, snowmobiles on city streets. Until this morning, there was no other way to get around. As Minnesota dug out of a weekend-long winter storm that turned holiday travel plans into nightmares, Duluthians had to dig the deepest. Nearly 22 inches of snow fell in a blizzard that left parts of the city “completely impassable” and shut down Interstate 35 south of town during the storm. The 21.7 inches that piled up by noon Sunday made it the ninth-largest snowfall over two days on record, said Justin Schultz, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Duluth.
